Hi guys,

I started using Nizoral shampoo ( 1%, navy colored bottle, light blue colored shampoo) been using it every Wednesday and Saturdays.

I noticed a lot dandruff / little white skin peeling off on my scalp and on my comb, when I comb.

Please see pics. Anyone else experiencing excessive dandruff with Nizoral? Sometime my scalp does itch and have a lil dandruff. But this stuff is peeling off my scalp.

My regime = minoxidil and Nizoral for almost 1 month now. Hair still shedding.

Didn't you have dandruff before starting treatment? Nizoral is also an anti-dandruff shampoo so it should be preventing dandruff if anything, perhaps the minoxidil is causing it?

yes, I had a little dandruff like little dust, but I have never seen huge chunks of skin peeling off on my comb. As you see in the pics, they are rather huge snowballs.

My crown is getting hit hard... I am thinking about making an appointment with a general doctor to test thyroid levels and get Proscar & cut into 4 pieces to save money. Or should I wait 6 months on Minoxidil 5% first and then decide?

How long did it take to get rid of dandruff?

It's shocking because I never had dandruff accumulate on my comb before.

from my experience, i think the minoxidile may cause you the excess of dandruff.

i tried minoxidil twice the first was back in 2014 for a year i noticed an increase of sebum + danruff. then i went back to it from febuary 2016 and i noticed the same problem.

i'm diffused thinning

Lay off the Nizoral a bit, it's probably too harsh for your scalp. Try to use it only once a week or leave it for just a couple of minutes at most, see how your skin reacts.
