Is It Safe To Take Finasterie Preventively ?

Hi, I'm 18, and trying to grow my hair out (really long). I already made a couple of threads about my potential receiding asking for opinions, and I was told I had nothing but BDD. But still, I think my hairline is clearly not as thick as it was 2 years ago.

So my question is, can I take finasteride just to eliminate any chance of going bald ? (young at least)

Wouldn't it mess with my current growth in any way ? (as in momentary shedding) cause I've been growing my hair for almost a year and it would suck to start over !

My dad has a NW0 (for real, he has the best hairline I've ever seen in my life), his dad too

My mom's dad had male pattern baldness though

Thanks guys

Personally I would want for legitimate signs of male pattern baldness prior to starting (e.g., excessive hair fall, recession at temples, thinning etc.). I would also wait until you're like 20 due to development that finasteride could hinder.

I just lurked your posts; based on the pictures from you're latest thread, you have no hair loss at all.

Don't mess with your hormones at 18. Focus on watching Arrow and hope you can maintain hair like Oliver Queen without using any drugs.

What y'all think about the picutre I posted? should I wait for my 19-20s, and take finasteride if it goes any thinner ?

Hair looks good, don't make the mistake of adding what you don't need, only bad can come of it.

It looks good but worse than 2 years ago, how do you explain that? Can hairline just change like that for no reasons?

Every question that starts with 'is it safe to take finasteride' only has one answer.

No. The answer to that question is no.

When the cure is finally found it will work like this

preventative starting at at 14 probably, and never look back, like popping a pill a day

Try the topical approach first. 18 is too young.

If you have severe acne, the first thing is wash, followed by deep pore oil/dirt/dht cleaning with an astringent that can make the cotton ball or white terrycloth towel black, even after hottest soapyiest wash. Alcohol, listerine, what ever can make the cotton ball black. Keep repeating until that ball does not come back dirty-even it it takes 9 cotton balls ripped in half. Then apply anti acne medicine. This, you may need to do every 3 hours a day. But life will intervene, and most days every 12 hours. ... I believe hair loss prevention need a mirrored approach... Oral antibiotics for acne, kills gut bacteria, cause nausea, just as an example. Most things are better treated topically, including sinus, and sore throat. Always clean the wound and apply topical antibiotics before resorting to the oral. Too many non realted kg of meat that shares the oral drug, not to mention bioavailability. .

Anyway, you should be able to buy minoxidil with finasteride in it. Probably, not a bad idea if the geniuses would look into dht pulling products, that work in same way acne oil wipes work, post showering.

Got to go, it has been 6 hours since my last tooth brush and gargle.

List list of claimed natural dht blockers for topical use is as long as my arm. I am trying to digest and cut out the bs.

Off top of my head, there are claims for: caffeine, melatonin, rosemary, biotin, fenugreek, soy, nettles, saw palmetto, caster oil, fish oil, green tea, azelaic acid, rentin a,.. Then, for growth, L arginine, lysene to synthesis w arginine to replace collagen lost to rogaine , beet root, zinc, b7, biotin, sulforaphane,

Copper peptides for healing.

Derma torture roller. ( still looking for tests on half head.)

Mt head is spinning. How to choose proven ones.

It seems logical to me that for something to work it needs support in vitro, in vivo , and have consistent, independent, preponderant anecdotes that are overwhelming. Repeatability too. The mechanism should ideally be understood and described in a logical way.

Getting a "nettles" pub med article, or "saw palmetto" article-for example-, is necessary for any logical endorsement. Unless you try this and this alone and have a repeatable immediate near 100 percent recovery.

I wonder if your statement comes from testing all these. Or from an intellectual conclusion based on specific studies, or frim the lack thereof?
