Dont be scared of the side effects..., you'll probably wont get any. (You can read my thread, I update on my finasteride use every 2 weeks, exactly to document sides).

You'll probably regret it later when you dont have so much coverage.

Why would you shave that off.... Nobody would think you're balding atm.
Get on treatments and hope for the best but it would be a crime to shave at this time.

Approaching a NW2A. Your hair will look normal to a non Norwood spotter so keep it that style and length. Enjoy it that way until you get to a NW4 or worse.

Well, finasteride and minoxidil are no supplements, they are legitimate medications for treating hair loss.

Please do not wait too long to start with it - once your hair is gone, it's gone. Your goal is to save as much hair as you can and finasteride can help you with that.
