I am 33 and 3 months old. I am NW2 and have slight diffuse thinner, very slight.I heard from many forums that if you are NW2 in mid thirties then chances of you going bald is not much. I know hairloss is shitty unpredictable thing but what is your observation about this ?

Not quite relevant but I saw quite a number of friends whose father and grandfather are NW7 at the age of 60 and yet they are still NW0 at 30. And yet, my brother at the age of 31 is having much less hair than his dad, aka, my uncle at the age of 66.

There are always exceptions and we will never know what we will be. So, just watch out and pray and hope for the best bro.

male pattern baldness is unpredictable no one can promise you any prediction of future hairloss you can keep your hair for a long time or lose most of it suddenly as long as you have the genes for androgenic alopecia you're pretty much fucked
i'm 30 years old have the thickest hair you could find , went NW1.5 in my 19 now i'm 30 years old still 1.5-NW2 on the hairline still got very thick hair when not wet and with the right styling could easily fool you into thinking i have NW0 but this year i starting balding at the crown area aggressively all of sudden just in one f*****g year i couldn't see that coming at all.
as in your case i have uncles including my own dad who kept NW1 to NW2 into their late 40s and then starting to bald more rapidly , i will say it's unlikely that you will go completely bald anytime soon but losing more NWs is possible and could happen anytime soon.

it's just about odds. Of course if you start receiding later chances are you won't hit the highest norwood because obviously as you are older there are less time for male pattern baldness to evolve and also some say you receide slower when you age but it's possible. That's why it's interesting to look at family hairloss history(grand father/father..).
If you have a diffuse/female pattern type, that's another battle. at 20, 30 or 60 yo chances are you will finish high norwood pattern(pattern means we can see thinning pattern but you are not necesseraly bald)
final note norwood 7/ slick bald are quite rare, that's the only positive thing we can say but again we are all concerned because we just don't know even if the odds are low...

Off-topic but in your view, diffuse thinning vs norwood, which one is likely to response / benefit from treatment and which one is more common ?

If you have male pattern baldness the probability of you going NW6+ is very high.

I recently read that diffuse thinning happen more and more. I think It's obvious that they respond better to treatment because if taken early, there are a lot of miniaturized hairs so they don't have to regrow hairs but to thicken them. but there can be aggravating factors.
Unlike receiding pattern, who have slick bald temples or crown(further in the norwood scale). But if you take receiding pattern early again it's a possible win. The problem is that most people realize they are receiding 2 norwoods too far. In case of diffuse the alert comes sooner

ye unless the crown remains intact /almost intact. Crown is a big indicator. when you start thinning there it's definitely a norwood 6 alarm. on the other side I know guys who are blatant norwood 3 for years with just a little lack of density in the crown area. It's like the male pattern baldness stopped.
