Is It Worth It To Add dutasteride Into My Regimen 1x A Week On Top Of Daily finasteride?

Title says it all. I'm not satisfied with my current regimen and I want to try block some more DHT but dutasteride is so damn expensive! ( Not that I would take it daily anyway )
Would taking it once a week on top of finasteride daily be of any benefit? Any studies done on this?
Thanks guys.

It is better to take Finasteride 5 days/week and take .5mg for two days/week.

If I recall correctly there was a study whose participants took finasteride daily and dutasteride twice per week. Btw I purchased 30 gel caps of dutasteride from India for $20.

How so? Are you speaking from experience or from something else? Elaborate on that please :D

What was the outcome of the study? Got any links? What website did you get the caps from?

I tried it and did not notice any benefit from it. But I would give it a shot since you seem to be open to try new things. I did it for almost a year. I must have been sensitive to the capsule or fillers because I would get a stomach cramp after I would take it.

This worked for me, I had already been on meds for years but was slowly losing ground on min and finasteride, so I added dutasteride 2x per week.

For the first time i experienced regrowth and my hair improved dramatically.

You nervous for a duta shed? Honestly with how great your hair looks right now I wouldn't rock the boat personally

Are there any studies on this? Was thinking about switching to dutasteride but have no idea about the protocol. Will ask my dermatologist on the next visit. Ashton Kutcher went straight to dutasteride at 25.

This is exactly the sort of thing I want to hear lol. I'll give my current regimen a couple more months to see what happens first. What days do you take dutasteride on?

Its not the shedding part that scares me, its the not growing back part that does. I've read plenty of hairline horror stories on dutasteride, a lot more so than success stories. Since I'm currently on a powerful anti androgen I'm fairly confident the surge of extra testosterone from dutasteride won't affect me ( I hope ) but its still a real worry. My hair looks good with concealer, without its not so good.. My retrograde alopecia doesn't help things either.

Ya it may go well for you, but I still think it’s risky. Why not try pge with dermarolling first? Some people are getting great temple regrowth with that. I don’t think you’ll need seti since you have maintenance already

And I’ve seen your pictures, do not think you have retrograde. I think my sides are worse than yours and it’s probably just my natural density, but I am going to a hair transplant doctor to hopefully get a microscopic exam and he’ll be able to tell me for sure. I’ll let you know the results

Unfortunately I do not have maintenance. Nothing has been able to stop my hair loss. I do think the addition of Cyproterone Acetate has slowed my male pattern baldness down but not by much, even then I'm not positive it has..
Your sides look similar to mine, I wouldn't say that you are worse though.. Probably about the same. My understanding of Retrograde Alopecia is that it's the thinning of the usually hair loss resistant area of the scalp which is evident on both of us. I also have some on my donor zone but not much thankfully. Where can I get my hands on PGE and is it cheap? I need to put my several barely used dermarollers to good use lol.

I’m not sure where to get pge, I’m gonna need to look into it too.

And I went to a hair transplant Doctor and unfortunately do have side thinning lol. No donor zone involvement thankfully
