I'm beginning to think my diffuse thinning might not be male pattern.

If I was to start minoxidil and see results. Would the regrown hair still be dependant on the minoxidil? Would it still away after I stopped using the minoxidil?

Yes, hair regrown by Minoxidil will be dependent on the medication for continued results. If you were to stop using Minoxidil, hair regrown by the medication will be lost again.

There are different types of hair loss, with Alopecia Androgenetica being the most common.

If you have alopecia areata and use minoxidil and get regrowth, you don't need to keep applying it after the regrowth.

However, you should really post pics of your hair so we can tell you if you have male pattern or not.

So if i were to get rid of all the DHT in the follicles, would i still have to use minoxidil for maintaining my regrowth??

Minoxidil works differently than finasteride, it doesnt block DHT.....
If you are going to use minoxidil, make sure to use finasteride with it.

You'll go through a massive shed if you were to quit using Minoxidil even if every single molecule of DHT within the hair follicles have already been removed. No other treatment can maintain Minoxidil regrown hair, but to continue using Minoxidil.
