Is my scalp thinning? Or just natural since hair is thinnish.

You HAVE thinning. But since we are not able to tell what causes it advices such as ''get on fina or min'' are useless. If you only have thinning on top than its obviously male pattern baldness-then finasteride is something that you should consider taking.

you can consider dieting and topicals instead. 90% of the people here believe minoxidil/finasteride is the only option.

Diet plays a massive role so if you're prone to scalp tension and DHT diet is really going to affect it. You don't have to use Rogaine.

i'm taking a month break off from dieting & topicals(keto cream 2%, emu oil, etc) but gonna pick it up on march.

p.s: pic is not me
Yep, these treatments are great. I keep my scalp healthy with similar essential oils and carrier oils and my hair feels and grows great.

Have you seen pictures of his hair a dews years ago. No. You have no idea if he’s thinning. I had very thick hair my whole life so that means every other head of head i saw was thinning compared to mine? Peoples hair textures are different.

These guys have no idea if you are thinning. I posted a pic in 2017. I was told I had crown thinning. I started using finasteride and it put me in Telogen Effluvium for years. Only now has my hair recovered and it’s absolutely fine. Obviously thinner than 3 years ago but no noticeable hair loss. NW1 no crown thinning, just extra loss from the Telogen Effluvium.

listen to your doctor not the people on this site. You have a full head of fine hair. Evaluate it in 6 months.
Some people shed in cycles like that,I do too.Your experience does not represent majority of fina users. Its like saying ''I got PFS from fina don't take it dude''.
I shed in cycles all the time because of f*cking minoxidil.

I'm literally booking a plane ticket this moment because of these people. It's driven me into over drive and multiple doctor appointments, I just want the harsh truth but people have different opinions. I think a psychologist and a dermatologist is what I need, but then again dermatologist might just say I'm thinning for cash. Do I avoid the pill or should I try the min oil stuff now? Since I don't think min does any harm.

I can't really see my scalp at all, hardly even with a torch. It's only when I part it. I'll book the dermo.

Please stfu.Take a look at this picture again and tell me this is not thinning??
Have you ever seen hair density of a woman that is going trough an extreme Telogen Effluvium? It looks exactly like this.
Maybe he is going trough the same thing, but one thing is for sure-that is not what normal hair density looks like.
Male=thinning on top=90% chance that its male pattern baldness.

Well. I'll book my tickets then. Become a dermatologist if you're this sure.

Its good that you are taking action. Maybe its only telogen and your hair will get better.
You don't have to be an expert to see that something is going on.I've been on hair loss forums for years and seen a lot of pictures.I'm obsessed with my hair and constantly look at what ''others have on their head''.

Don’t listen to that idiot above. He has no idea what’s going on. Putting min on your head could f*****g destroy your hair. I’ve seen it on this site way too many times. Evaluate in 6 months. Same exact pictures. If it’s thinner, then you know.

In the meantime if you suffer with seb derm or itchy scalp use Nizoral shampoo once a week. On the other days use an organic shampoo, no harsh chemicals. Add a small amount of peppermint oil and Rosemary oil to your shampoo. That should really help your scalp. No finasteride, no min! Check in 6 months.

Do you have any pictures of your hair from a few years ago?
Unfortunately not the top... Will look. I'm gonna see a dermatologist or trichologist few hours from my home, she offers natural solutions. Do you think this is a good idea, will I possibly be balding within a few months?

No you won’t be balding In a few months lol I made the same mistake of listening and picturing my hair gone in less than a year. It didn’t happen.
You said you’re not shedding and don’t lose hairs while combing? Don’t worry, you’re not balding.
Yeah, those oils do help. They thicken up follicles like minoxidil so would be great for your hair. Just small amounts in a natural shampoo. Avalon organic thickening is what I use and it’s great.

My family and doctor said my hair is fine, and it is thick apparently. But isn't this aggressive balding and thinning?? My hairline is apparently good as well. I can't see scalp through hair only see scalp when I part it. Time to go on pills? Am I doomed af. Definitely don't want to be on pills just yet. Hoping it could be natural View attachment 156720

How old are you?
That looks a lot like the thinning i was experiencing at 24/ 25. My then girlfriend told me i was losing it (despite having an intact hairline), which totally freaked me out. Unlike you, I could see (and feel) the loss in density and i noticed increased shedding. I went to a dermatologist who confirmed that i had male pattern baldness. I went on propecia straight away, although i was a bit suspicious about the integrity of this dermatologist (he had a commercial interest in propecia).
Anyway, propecia (later proscar) worked very well for me, my hair thickened up.
I was all fine until i turned 39, when i started thinning again on top, while my hairline also started to recede and thin out. I am 41 now and still looking for ways to halt the thinning.
Having said that: IF you are thinning, chances are quite high that you can stop it for years or even reverse it. But, given the fact that you don't notice increased shedding or a loss in density (I could definitely FEEL it when i touched my hair): maybe you are just fine.
In any case: good luck.

Diet and stress smoking all contribute to hair quality. But Alopecia is a genetic decease and as such you can't eat soy and cure it. Science is here to fight nature. Countless naive people will listen to idiots like yourself posting pics of others to prove their point while they lose precious time to use adequate treatment and keep losing their hair.
