Is scalp exfoliating scrub needed or will a scalp exfoliating brush do?

Before putting on the hair system I wipe my scalp down with surgical spirit or iso alcohol, then use a scalp exfoliating brush, then shampoo it.

I read some hair system guides saying to use a scalp exfoliating scrub. But other guides don't.

Is that really needed?

The objective is to exfoliate. Either will do.

For me having dandruff problems scalp scrub is the best thing I've found, it definitely will clean it well. Although with no hair in the way it is easier to clean in general

I've always wondered, is it a good idea to exfoliate then put harsh chemicals on that area very soon after?

I personally just clean with C-22 and shampoo and then exfoliate on the re-groom weeks. I usually take it off before bed then re-attach the next morning. When re-doing the front - I just clean with C-22 and shampoo.
