Is taking Propecia 4 times a week a waste?

Is taking Propecia 4 times a week even worth it?I ask because ive been taking propecia on a M W F S schedule,I tried taking it 7 days a week and got some sides,but at 4 days a week im fine.Im new to the hairloss drugs so any input is appreciated.thanks

Nah it wouldn't be a waste, probably not as effective, but still better than nothing.

I'd try taking .5mg (assuming you take 1mg EOD now) each day, then you know it is in your system every day doing something. If you still get sides doing that, well 1mg EOD is better than nothing like I said.

I'm with Tyler on this. It'll be less effective, sure, but 5-alpha reductase takes quite a long time to replenish itself in your body. Take a day or two out a week, and you'll still always have significantly lower levels in your bloodstream than someone who's not on it, and therefore you'll have lower levels of DHT also.

I bet there is hardly if any difference between every day and four times a week.

I agree with all the above posters.



As you see, 0.5mg of finasteride are in terms of effectivenes very close to 1mg. Finasteride will also reduce serum dht levels for several days after a single dose so EOD or 4 times a week would also make a difference.

That said, I would go with 0.5 everyday just to maintain a steady flow of drug and reduce dht fluctuations.
