Is there any hope left for me?

I have been on propecia for 1 and a half year and now my hairloss is worst than ever. I decided to take propecia after reading and asking some questions on this site 2 years ago.

For the first time, I saw the skin on top of the head today (without any big light) and I litterally panic now :thumbsdown: . That mean the propecia I have been using is not working. I can't believe I wasted hundred and hundred of $ on that crap. What should I do now? I am completly lost, now everyone will know that I am balding at 22 :sobbing: What should I do? The stupid scientist made anything in these 2 years that I will save me? :lost:

If I was you I would continue with propecia and maybe consider switching to dutasteride. Also, if you haven't already, start using Nizoral at least 3 times a week and start using rogaine foam at least once a day. See how that works for a few months if your hairloss continues consider trying Dr. Proctors products and maybe adding folligen or tricomin. Remember that the big 3 has a much better chance of maintaining what you have and a much smaller chance of regrowing some hair.

Basically if the big 3 aren't working in a few months I would say your best bet is Dr. Proctors products are a last line of defense until something better comes along. But I would never stop using the big 3; I would only add things to it. Just my opinion here.

I dont really think your hairloss is that bad yet. You can be saved! Good luck.

you have tons of hair what are you worrying about? i'm sure the finasteride is at least slowing the process. i'd cut your hair shorter, add minoxidil, and use some concealers like toppik or nanogen.

what kind of propecia have you been taking - brand name? proscar? online pharmacy?

have you been good - take it around the same time every day, and never miss a day?

it's possible you are a non-responder, but if so you're in a very small minority.

Thanks for the quick answer. I am on the real propecia, I never missed it 1 day. At that point, I don't expect much regrowth, I just hope to have some ahirs left until my 30yo. I will add nizoral and minoxidil if they are my only hope :freak:

my honest opinion

1) cut your hair shorter (3 cm on top) and comb it forward, it will be less noticeable. I have similar loss to yours on top but keeping hair shorter blends it a bit.

2) if you want you can try toppik, it's a life saver for some people here, I don't use them, too much hassle and worrying

3) try some topicals suggested or make your own. There a tons of treatments not approved by FDA which might work for you. For example topical green tea extract, green seed extract, azelaic acid, retin-A, caffeine, etc . do your homework, there are tons of resources

4) well it's not the end of the world, it's hair, after they fall out you won't die or anything, just live like you always do

Get proscar or generic proscar from usa pharmacy and buy generic minoxidil and use twice a day rubbing in real good all over top of male pattern baldness zone. You can get 6 bottles of minoxidil for 17 bucs at costco. What i do is fill a hair spray that people use to wet their hair up with the 6 bottles. Usully lasts me 2-3 months. Its never to late with the big 3 you just need to stick with it. If you lost ground in a year on propecia you got aggresive hairloss genes and need to attack it from 3 different angles.

Thanks for the ideas. Too bad I don't live in the us, you guy seems to have some nice price over the hair product. 6 month of minoxidil for 17$ :shock: . Where I live they need to milk us to death so we can keep our hairs. I will also need to get some information about the generic proscar you mention, it could save me some $, because 66$ a month is killing my poor student budget.

Time to do my homework.
