Hey,

So it's been one month since I started 0.5mg finasteride daily. Testicular pain and fatigue are my only sides for the moment. I'm very scared of gyno so I'm a bit paranoid about it. Also I've noticed I seem to get a bit more pimples on my body and face than I usually would, but could be other factors as well.

I'm aware of PFS and multiple health risks of taking finasteride. My main concern would be a pro-aging effect (skin, brain, tendons...etc). I haven't found any litterature on that subject. And also belly fat which I hope I won't get.

Is there any scientific proven health benefits to taking finasteride (other than hair maintenance)? I've read it could lead to better skin in most people suffering from acne for instance.

Have you guys noticed some improvement in your life and health while being on Finasteride?

Thanks

I have been taking it a year and half. I am not sure I noticed too much of a difference in my hair in terms of loss. After three months of use I basically stopped have any side effects. But after a year and half I have noticed a difference in my skin, it looks a lot more clear then it did before finasteride so that’s a plus. Other than that it pretty much sucks that we have to take this crap. I am hoping one day there’s a much better solution for people.

Finasteride 5mg reduces a man’s chances of developing prostrate cancer.
So maybe even a small dose we take for male pattern baldness may help in some way in preventing prostrate cancer?

Im pretty sure taking finasteride actually long term puts our risk up. I cant remember why ...
if @hemingway_the_mercenary has the time he might drop a line stating why.

It can help shrink your prostate and lower your risk to have a benign enlarged prostate. And if you don't like having excessive body hair, it can help decrease your body hair.

Not really. If anything though id say its more in the possible negatives column just given the historical results of drugs in general. They usually dont end up causing good as much as they do bad.
