Is there any way to test if minoxidil is real or not?

Hello all, I recently bought some 'Mnx 5 Minoxidil' from this Ebay store. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Minoxidil...pical-solution-3-months-supply-/271621251244?

I've used Kirkland in the past but I thought I would try something different as I didn't see any negative feedback for this particular brand. However, when I opened the bottle, I noticed that solution is clear (unlike Kirkland's yellowish tint) and it has sort of hairspray smell. Has anyone used the brand before, supposedly more than 500 people have ordered it so I thought I would try my luck here!

The best way is to send it to a lab for testing which is costly. Another way is to put some on a plate and leave it for several hours. The alcohol and glycol should evaporate leaving white crystals (minoxidil crystals)
It's hardly likely you got fake minoxidil. because like finasteride, minoxidil is cheap to manufacture.

best bet is buy from a legit company (target, costco, wall mart, rogaine, wall greens) everything else is just not guaranteed purity in my opinion, none of that order online **** from these unknown brands

Don't worry, the US and UK governments are VERY good at monitoring chemical companies to make sure they produce pure products.

It benefits organizations like the FDA more if manufacturers produce impure products because then they can sue the companies for a LOT of money. If a company's goal is to make a profit, they wouldn't dare risk putting out a fake product, because they can say bye to their company. It is much more cost-effective and less risky to produce a pure product than face the wrath of the FDA.

The system works in the consumer's favor when it comes to supplements/minoxidil/prescription meds/generic meds/etc.

There's no way to know unless you test it in a lab, they could be mixing regular pg with alcohol and refilling the bottles to make a quick buck. Minoxidil works for so few that most wouldn't realize what's going on. The stuff on ebay and generics I doubt they're tested. There must be a reason why it's much more expensive to buy it from a pharmacy.
