Really?
My tsh was 1.44 last time I checked, ft3 and ft4 both in range. Does that mean a subclinical hypothyroidism?
I do notice my donor not as thick as years ago on top of my already existing retrograde.
Other than just being 'in range', what matters more is where on the range you fall. You could be on the bottom of the range and near the top of the range and that would be significantly different.
FT4 - [12 - 22] - you probably want to be 19 or 20, rather than 13 or 14, for example.
The absolute best way is to look at symptoms, and body measures such as pulse or temperature. If your pulse is lower than 60 that could indicate hypothyroidism, same if you don't have a body temperature of 98.6°F during the day as well.
Where did you get that from? Mine is 1.5. and I also have thinning all over the head.
Doctors will never agree that you are lacking thyroid hormones if your TSH is within their predetermined range, but in 5 years that I've personally been fighting against hypothyroidism, every time I've seen a person with thinning hair, fatigue, low libido, no energy and other general thyroid symptoms, they always had a TSH of at least 2, and usually higher, even though the range goes up to 4 and they would technically not be diagnosed.
Consequently, the people who I know to be vigorous, youthful and energetic, that have had their thyroids tested, usually come out between 0.5 and 1.2 at most.
My TSH was as high as 8 and I've lowered it to 3.5 without use of thyroid hormones, through diet supplement and lifestyle intervention. I will continue working on it until I get it below 1 and fix it completely.
