A bald model ( clearly a Norwood 4 or worse) for specsavers - which means we can't just dismiss this as a model who landed the part because of his 'body' or because he's 'famous'...any thoughts on this? Any similar examples?Although I admit he's a rarity, I could guarantee that he could score hotter women than 99 % of NW1's...so take note - grow a beard, get green contact lenses, and hump away...

A good case of a model's hairloss & shaved style being useful to him..my guess is the makers chose him as (as well as him being handsome) his shiny dome draws attention down to the specs.

Let's see the checklist:

1. Grow beard
2. Get green contact lenses
3. Wear designer glasses
4. Get surgery to obtain model-like good looks (go to Asia for this... prices are cheap and surgeons are getting much better)

Once we do this then we can finally stop being slaves to our hair loss regimens!

Theres lots of bald models. Its not that rare. Interestingly alot of them model suits.

Bald can be cool. Like any look theres always someone that suits it. I see few similar guys at castings all the time.

Baldness wnuldnt hold him back with the ladies. Hes got the sparkle in his eye lol

Baldness may have helped him land the Spescsavers job, but I bet he would have landed many more if he still had hair. Although baldness does not stop you from being happy, it will, on the whole, stop you from having a modelling career (unless you're dark-skinned).

Imo, fwiw I think we need to see more ads like this that include baldness as something normal and try and contradict the social stigma of baldness. I realize we have come a long way since the eighties with superstars embracing their baldness openly and reclaiming their power like Andre Agasi for instance. I also realize that bald nw5 guys are still in a minority so there is no obligation for advertisers to consider us for roles where they are trying to appeal to the average person. Alot of how people perceive any given topic is through the lens of how the media has portrayed it, so they have a social power which they use irresponsibly by perpetuating negative sterotypes, creating very real consequences for millions of people like BDD, anorexia and other disorders. I would like to see the media stop bashing baldness and start repairing the damage they've done by using fair representation.

Integrate bald men into positive roles in the media and phase out the derogatory commercials. What do you think will happen? Do you think if people everywhere adopted a less prejudice view of bald people, that the stigma would subside? And bald people would be treated like equals instead of inferiors. What if they didn't have a problem with us and we could just be without the expectation of shame and embarrassment. Do you even think it could happen?
