Is This Balding Or Something Else. Paranoid.

I am currently 17. Two years ago my friend convinced me to get a perm with her for fun. It was cool having curlier hair and all but after that I’ve been very paranoid about my hair. I was 15 when I got the perm and soon after I saw that I was losing a lot of hair in the shower. Although that mainly stopped I now notice that some of my hair has changed texture. Some hair has become extremely “kinky” (almost looks like “~~~~~~”) and rough to the touch. I’ve also noticed my hair gets very oily after a day, although I did always have oily hair but I’m not sure if it got more oily. My dad only started balding around 50, and my grandparents are bald but didn’t start young either. Based off of the pictures does it seem to be male pattern balding or perhaps something else, like chemical induced? I just feel like the density of my hair isn’t full. I’m also Asian, which I heard has thinner hair, but from my memory my hair has been thicker than it is now. I’m not trolling btw.

It doesn’t look like you’re balding. When your hair feel out from the perm it could’ve been from the chemicals but who knows. Anyways is your hair always that long?
When your hair is longer it’s heavier and can make it look thinner.
It looks like you’re using flash for your pictures and that always will make your hair look thinner too. Doesn’t look like hair loss to me. The front of your hairline looks slightly thin but that honestly is from how long your hair looks. I bet if you get a haircut it will feel thicker and nicer again.

Thank you for the response I really appreciate it. Would you recommend going to see a dermatologist or something just to ease my anxiety on this matter? Also my hair usually isn’t this long. It’s usually much shorter, but quarantine has me stuck to my bed lol. But anyways I really appreciate it. I’ll try to get a haircut as soon as possible and see how it looks.

Yes you could go see a dermatologist, but with my experience most of them don’t know sh*t about hair loss. If you can find one that specializes in it yes. Like you said your hair isn’t usually this long and we don’t have much to do other than just stare at ourselves in the mirror lol if it still looks odd after a haircut go see a derm and come back with new pictures so we can see what it looks like.
