Is this guy saying that washing hair with only water will stop hairloss? That must be the cheapest treatment :)

It actually makes sense, but for people that aren't predisposed for losing hair. You could wash your hair with anything and still lose it if you have male pattern baldness.

Interesting point. If that's true, shouldn't people getting treatment for male pattern baldness (minoxidil, propecia) also benefit from not using shampoo because it requires healthy scalp to grow hair. Or is that a moot point for people on nizoral since nizoral was supposed to improve scalp condition for that reason. BTW, does nizoral contain SLS like other shampoo?

I'm fairly sure the concentration of any irritant is negligible. Purposefully putting a chemical that can cause hairloss in a product made strictly for the hair seems kinda counter intuitive wouldn't you say?

I don't think it makes sense unless you are using formula 88 to wash your hair.

Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate?

I went through my shampoo collection as well as my girlfriends. Out of over ten different brands including Nizoral and Tricomin only one did not contain SLS or ALS. It also happens to be my favorite shampoo and probably the best cleaning shampoo I've ever used. The shampoo without the two products was Revivogen's Bio-Cleansing Shampoo. I don't know about the rest of you, but that article did leave me rather curious. I think I may change my daily regimen to use Revivogen shampoo daily instead of the Tricomin shampoo. I'll still continue to use the Tricomin follicle spray, and of course the Nizoral every 3 to 4 days. My regimen happens to be working rather well with lots of new growth on my temples. My only worry with Revivogen however is the fact that it contains Saw Palmetto. I've heard repetitive issues of shedding with its use. Unfortunately, I'm not to sure what effect the topical form has.

This is BS. I remember something like this hit the forums at hairlosshelp ages ago (about the ALS/SLS issue). Promoters of organic shampoos like to point to some old study that suggested that these agents affected hairloss. According to the op there, Farely, that study was long since debunked. If it were true, why would almost every shampoo still use it?

Not washing your hair is only going to leave topical residue, oils, dirt, and sebum on your scalp, which will will reap havok. This is total bs. Wash your hair.

"The right rear corner of my head was very bald: Ground Zero of my "male pattern baldness." That was almost invariably the initial application site of soap or shampoo when washing my hair. I am right-handed."

I like this guy's humour.
