I shed a lot of hair daily btwIs this male pattern baldness, I'm only 16 and I'm not tryin to be bald.
I don't know what to do, you think it's reversible?yeah more than likely. Your hair is still thick but it seems like you are the verge of total decimation tbh so you should take action pretty soon but not before getting diagnosed first.
Absolutely your 16I don't know what to do, you think it's reversible?

So is not weird to shed a whole bunch(I'm talking like a few hundred hairs a day)? Does puberty really have that affect on some people. Also, my hair looks full, but only when dry. You're going through puberty, so this will NOT be an accurate reflection of
your future hair.
That said, if you're still losing a lot at 18, start popping some Finasteride.
For now, I recommend Minoxidil 5% solution all over.
No sexual side effects with Minoxidil.
You think because I'm young it's not male pattern baldness. My biggest fear is that its male pattern baldness and I have no chance of it growing back.I was 20 and had very thick hair and had similar thinning to you. I used minoxidil for about 6months and it filled in and didn't have any issues till I was 29. People here are just guessing and assuming you are permanently bald while this is not necessarily the case. Use minoxidil, you will shed more at first. If your hair cycle is off then this can help reset it.

What will a blood test show me. Either way I can't get one because I can't make my own doctors appointments. My mom just thinks I'm tweakin and that my hair is completely normal.Definitely get a blood test bro.
Ok, so should I just go buy it without doctor approval. Also, in the event that it's not male pattern baldness, will there be negative side effects.I come from a unique position where I was young and had a bald spot and most would say I have male pattern baldness (dad and both grandfathers are bald) but it resolved within six months of minoxidil and stayed fine for almost a decade. My hair looked like yours when wet. But I also did something about it.

Alright, so from what I can conclude, rogaine/minoxidil is safe and I should go buy it immediately, but I have a couple more questions. 1) Will the initial shedding be noticeably bad in the first few weeks? Will my hair be visibly patchy and gross? 2) I look up minoxidil and there's all these different brands and things like Bosley. Rogaine, and hims. What do I buy?Rogaine is not really just for male pattern baldness it is considered a growth stimulator through various mechanisms that are not fully understood (blood flow, prostaglandins and influencing follicular phases possibly through its actions of prostaglandins). The side effects that you may experience is irritation (mitigated with the foam though I have always used the liquid) and increased hair shedding for a few weeks (so use it when your hair is longer as the shed can be quite significant).

Ok, so 5%, foam, and I'm assuming directions are on the box. Is this something I'll be taking continuously for a long time? Any brand recommendations from anyone else btw?If your hair is short and with the scalp being already visible then the shedding can make the bald areas look worse. If your hair is thick and long then it should be able to cover it once dry.
I only used it once per day/at night.
The brand does not matter, just get 5%. Again the foam may be less irritating and does not make your hair looks as bad at the liquid (greasy).
