I'm not saying this guy isn't going bald. I'm not insisting he's a NW2 either. I'm just saying that as a general rule a NW2 isn't really a receding hairline. I like to pick nits.

Norwood 2 isn't a "receding hairline for sure". You can't call it that before it's getting closer to NW2.5ish. It does look like it could be thinning though.
Um...what? If Norwood 2 at age 22 isn't a receding hairline for sure, then what is it? He's a Norwood 2 best case scenario.

A Norwood 2 at age 22 is either a mature hairline or the beginning of male pattern baldness. You can't know for sure unless there is further thinning.

This looks like the beginning of typical male pattern baldness in my opinion. I would say your temples are a NW2 which is nothing to worry about, but you have obvious thinning in the Norwood 5 region which could become a problem. I'd say you may want to think about getting on Propecia.

chances are mate you may be starting to loose it it slowly...

BUT... Norsk was talking some sense... you have a high forhead naturally... like i do myself... and i was never ever a NW1 even when i was like 10 yrs old !!!!

so, go and look at some pics from when you was 16/18 or so and work out if you have always had that hairline or not... coz it may be fine... and you may just have fine hair which when shaved short looks thin where the light hits it...

the guy in the pic is a norwood 2,and although he has recession i would not call him receded,
however it looks like he could be thinning but if you look at his side hair it appears the same thickness as the top which is a good sign

Some people are born with high hairlines. I have Asian friends who I've known since I was a kid. They have what might be considered a Norwood 2 hairline, but they had that hairline when they were kids as well - I still have the photos.

Only way to tell whether you have receded is to look at pictures of when you were younger to see if there is a difference. Or if you're losing fistfuls of hair a day, which it doesn't seem like you are.

I'd check out old photos and monitor the situation. If you see it getting worse, then think about getting a regimen of male pattern baldness treatments together.

There is no point medicating if you don't need to.

Good luck.
