Is this miniturization? (pics)

This is almost certainly a miniaturisation that you have going on. If you could take a picture from the same perspective as your last picture while pulling your hair back, it would give a much better view on how far it has progressed.

It doesn't look very advanced though. Now would be the best time to start taking finasteride.

Pete,

I am a 20 year old from the UK who took finasteride at 18 when i saw hair loss to the same extent as yours. I only used finasteride on and off for a couple of months and almost 2 years later i am impotent, i have severe sleep issues, penis shrinkage and other side effects that come with androgen deprivation.

I am just giving you my story so that you can weigh up the risks with finasteride. That drug has completely changed my life.

How come the guy above me is aloud the spam the forum with his constant copy/paste reply to every finasteride related post?

Take the finasteride, see if you one of the 98% of people that have no side effects, then see if you fall into the 43% that saw regrowth or the 45% halted their hairloss completely.

This is according to a recent 5 year study.

Good luck.

thats miniaturization dude, theres no doubt whatsoever...and dont listen to Joey-1991.

go get yourself a glass of water, take a deep breath, and swallow your first finasteride dose. Trust me, your head wont fall off and it will keep your hair from doing it.

You're young, nice head of hair, you could potentially see amazing results.

Sure, choose to ignore me if you wish. I am just adding in my story to show you that i was in the very same position as you at one point and things haven't turned out pretty. People on this forum encouraged me to try finasteride and even told me to carry on when i had watery semen and lost morning erections. I was so obsessed with my hair and this forum that i never stopped to think just how fucked up that is, you know?

Hair loss is devastating when it first starts happening. I lost my confidence and began to withdraw to a certain extent. I even questioned my future career and where i might study. The thing is though, deep down i always knew i was quite happy and i knew everything would be fine with time - i had a good life. Sure enough, once i met more girls and began to find myself again my confidence was back and hair loss was not an issue.

This time around, it is a whole different ball game. I can tell myself things will be OK and that my life is good but actually, it's not. 20 years old, almost completely impotent, unable to feel sexual pleasure/ arousal and the sleeping pattern of a 50 year old menopausal woman. I am sick of trying to sugar coat things. Finasteride is a horrible, horrible drug that is ruining thousands of lives worldwide. Who knows how many older men there are that have no idea.

Having said that, it does seem that permanent side effects are rare. I often find myself in denial and will probably never come to terms with it. I wish you the very best, and hopefully you can completely halt the hair loss if finasteride works for you.

The thing is, from what I've read, side effects can catch you on every stage of taking finasteride. You can be fine for two years, hell, you can be fine even 5 years or more, and then all of sudden you're crushed by the side effects and struggle to recover. You can even quit finasteride, and only THEN have side effects. It's not likely that you'll be able to take finasteride for a very long period of time.

OK, regarding side effects, EVERY drug has side effects, did you know Paracetamol, you know the drug you can buy over the counter in a gas station/shop for headaches, muscle pain, etc etc, did you know that can cause liver and kidney failure?

You see, even the most basic and "safe" drugs have scary side effects if you look them up.

Should put things into perspective.
