Is this normal?

I've just turned 26, have short black hair and my hair naturally sticks up.

I was wondering if anyone can look at these pictures and judge if this is normal? I'm not sure if it's because my hair is short and black and the lighting that makes the top of my scalp easy to see or if the hairs are thinning. The pictures were taken post-bath and no shampoo, and with a flash.

What type of hair do you have/how does it lay? I notice for many of my Asian friends with short, stiff hair that kind of poofs out, it can be hard to get a picture of the head without exposing the scalp. Do you feel as if you've noticed diffuse loss?

It does feel like it, but I really don't know if it's diffuse thinning. I do remember seeing my scalp exposing on the side after getting a haircut in 2015 but didn't think about it much and thought it was normal.

Do your Asian friends' scalps expose the same way as I do, especially under bright light?
