Hi everyone,

Is it useful to apply topical spironolactone while being on finasteride or dutasteride, or is it redundant?

Further, have any of you tried a spironolactone solution? I have long hair, which makes creams messier to apply. I have read that spironolactone solutions, but other people seem to say it's fine. What do you guys think?

I have used it for 5 months. You can look at my thread in the tell your story section, and make you own decision if it helped my hairline or not. I believe it did. I think using topical spironolactone is a good idea while on finasteride if you can afford it. It has no noticeable sides. It also doesn't block DHT, it protects the follicle from DHT. So... inhibit DHT + hair follicle protection = :):):) I got the one off this website, and it's pretty easy to apply if you part your hair and use a q-tip. It does make your scalp/hair very greasy, but I don't think they have a topical that doesn't make your hair look like ****.

Yeah if you can afford it and actually follow the pain of using it then it cant hurt. Finasteride though is the big dog and you need that the spironolactone wont stop male pattern baldness alone.

I'm just starting topical spironolactone S5 cream since my hairloss is aggressive and it seems like it is very complementary with finasteride.

I'm not sure either is better out of the day and night S5 cream. From what I can tell, the only difference is that the day cream has caffeine and the night cream has adenosine instead (which promotes sleep).
