I always blow dry my hair as it makes it much easier for me to spike up my hair. I want to know if all this blow drying can excacerbate male pattern baldness or make you lose your hair ?

It may be slightly bad for the condition of your hair but it wont cause hairloss. So generally speaking no.

I used to blow dry my hair but not any more. It irritates my scalp.

You can get hair dryers with warm and cool settings. This is what I use. And Instead of thinning my hair it gives volume. Use the Warm setting.

Tourmaline blow dryers are better because they are easier on the hair. I have used blow dryers all my life and I still have healthy looking hair. I don't every use high settings.

Personally, I would avoid blow drying. Before I started treatments I was blow drying and using hairspray to thicken up the appearance of my crown. It just seemed to make my shedding worse.

I dont know...

But it is not good for long time. if we keep drying hair for very long time then it would be harmful. we can use it for maximum 15 miniutes... :woot:

I do the same...to make it easier to spike up.

I wondered the same thing, but honestly, aside from possibly making your hair dry and brittle if you have it too hot, or literally blasting hairs from your scalp if you have it set to jet engine power (in which case they'd simply grow back), I don't think it's going to affect male pattern baldness.

I used to straighten my hair maybe once or twice a week and tbh didn't see any real difference from when I didn't do it. Blowdrying my hair on the other hand always made my hair poofy and frizzy (course it settled down though).

Now of course drying my head takes about 5 seconds with a towel...

My problem is my hair is pretty long and I have to blow dry it to get out of the house on time in the morning or else my hair will look nappy. :/
