Based on Aderan's treatment being a very similar idea and proving only effective at maintaining existing hair (as well as similar research), I'm personally doubtful that Shiseido's treatment will do anything more than offer maintenance.

So from what I've gathered Aderan did manage to get some new hair growth and they were injecting both mesenchymal dermal papilla cells, and epithelial cells. Shidiedo is only injecting dermal sheath cup cells, which seem to be specific to the DHT immune regions (only half of hair models seem to include which I imagine is due to them taking hair from different areas of the scalp), and they think they're more efficient than normal dermal papilla cells. So what sets Riken apart? Aren't they also just culturing and injecting mesenchymal and epithelial cells back into the scalp?

The problem with Aderan was probably that they didn't do anything to stop further damage from DHT.

^From what I remember, Aderans' method was almost the exact same as replicel's, except instead of using dermal sheathe cup cells, they used dermal papilla cells. There are DHT receptors on the papilla, so I'd assume their goal was to grow new DHT resistant hair from those cells, just like replicel. Looking at replicel's results, I honestly don't think it works. I might start a different post on exactly why I think this. Replicel was one of the first companies that I thought could really do it. Then I realized the disappointment people have been feeling for years. Now I'm not so optimistic.

What I'd look forward to most is a new drug delivery system that is so well targeted that it results in a completely side effect-less treatment. You already know my hope for an electrical/ion hair targeting system. Then I would start using minoxidil and other things of that sort.

I guess out of the things that actually f*****g might exist, if I can't make something else work, it'd be CB-03-01 and samumed. One to maintain hair, the other to grow it.

Looking at replicel's results, I honestly don't think it works

6% hair regrowth in six months on a safety trial wtih less than 20 people isn't that bad. The theory behind it is pretty good, DHT depletes the dermal papilla, so you replace them.

They still need to do a dosing trial to figure out efficacy. In the end I think we're going to end up using a combination of Brotzu's lotion to increase epithelial cells, Shiseido to replace the dermal papilla and SM04554 to muck around with the Wnt signalling.

They stopped funding their hairloss research, but were willing to continue it if it were funded on someone else's dime.

In some of those articles I shared, it had pointed out that the first successful hair regeneration experiments (in mice) were done in the 1970s. Many of the newer, promising treatments are promising not because they present tons of new information, but because they are actually being put to use.

Wouldn't they just turn back into vellus hairs? Man, I should really dig that study up.

For me all my focus are in FIDIA/Brotzu, because it's the closet lotion that's comming to the market and seems to have potentiel. but we have to wait until the official presentation.

the other things that are coming in the next 2 or 3 years i don't care much about them for now, my hair won't wait until that.

give me at least brotzu right now to maintain what i have at least or have a good regrowth as claimed by dr.Brotzu and later we can talk about Histogen, tsuji ....

edit: and Brotzu of course. I have some faith in it. Even if it maintains or slows it's good enough for me. Finasteride is a no go and I don't feel like minoxidil is a long-term solution.
