Why is this thread still even replied to. Do people believe this lotion is somehow going to be absorbed past the epidermis to the roots of the follicles and trigger growth again?

Just curious as to why people still focus on topicals. Besides, if you're already bald in an area then eventually the follicles' pathway to the surface is eventually closed and scarred over right?

What am I missing here?

We fixate on topicals because they are cheap and available to the masses. Imagine having a topical where everyone is a good responder, like those people who get significantly better hair just on Minoxidil.

The burden being that you have to use topicals every single day, which I am definitely willing to live with.

Follica was a big blow for a lot of us. We were hoping for 2018 and because of their "neogenesis" mechanism a lot of us were dreaming of a 2018 full of regrowth. The coming treatments Replicel and Tsuji require travelling probably tons of cash, which many of us can't afford.
I understand, but that Follica hype was for two weeks beside nobody was sure, as I recall 2018 was just a probability. About Shiseido and Tsuji having to travel far away we always knew about that, and besides I think most of us are just looking to something effective being out for the peace in mind it will give us even if we have to save a couple of years to afford it.
In fact, I would said that this last months have been mostly positive. In august we find out that Follica is not just minoxidil+dermarrolling (a lot of people were sceptic), we also have the news of the lactate thing from the UCLA which may open some interesting doors (using topical lactate or trying the drugs they use). Also the aclaris patents in September. The brotzu hype trains still there too. I don't know man. Even if your hair can't wait this much you can shave it and remain hopeful that Tsuji will expand in 10 years.
Let's just wait hopeful my sweet prince of the meme.

Situation is still the same. Just hoping that Brotzu does come out in 2018 and it works. Xander you see like you're just going through one of those phases. Sometimes I wake up and feel like there's no hope and it sticks with me for awhile

That's fine and all but how does a topical get to the root of the problem. How can it access the dermis where the roots of follicles are present if it's just applied externally like soap or shampoo? Could see this working if you have existing hair, but most of us here are here because we've already lost hair. I could only see it being absorbed through existing hair just like minoxidil, but that's also not very reliable on its own.

We all saw the studies where wounding helped absorption of minoxidil leading to better results. This is proven in beards too. So the only real way I see this being successful is if it's significantly better regrowth than minoxidil. My opinion doesn't matter though, really just wondering how the topical can access the dermis.

According to Ieson member (mary7876) who contacted Fidia by phone, Fidia will release an official statement 'soon'. Hopefully it will be something positive and atleast gives a more accurate timeframe for marketing (if this ever gets released though).

What's her reputation on the forum like? Is she Noisette or Swoop level helpful or just a random baldie that's sad enough to post memes on hair loss forum?

Well we know there is a shelf life issue, and they allegedly found a solution and were doing additional tests to avoid delivering a useless product and therefore losing their reputation and sh*t ton of money.

I find it hard to believe that this is all narrative, because it's a pretty elaborate hoax if that's the case. The fact is that this has shown some promising results, I suspect we will hear some positive news.

It could very well be that this is not any better than minoxidil, but until people get the opportunity to try it, we have no idea except what our hopes lead us to believing. In other words, I'll believe it when I see it, however I am holding out some optimism this will be a better alternative to minoxidil and finasteride.

Think about Tesla. Nobody liked him while he was alive.:p
Hunanoids don't like intelligence.
Oh so because you guys don't believe this product will work makes you more intelligent then everybody else? Lol
Everyone has their own opinion it's all speculation having hope or not believing in this at all doesn't determine your intelligence
