You know, I actually have my doubts this thing will be a huge seller. At least, not initially.
You can already get some great results with finasteride, minoxidil and transplants, but only 7-10% of men pursue treatment. A lotion that is likely to come with a lofty pricetag, even with little or no side effects, is unlikely to sway most men who are already delusional and believe that balding is no big deal and that their confidence trumps any social bias stacked against them.
Some of that, I think, is coping that has been embedded within the public consciousness at a deep level. It's partly because many people don't believe rogaine works which is the truth for many people, many people believe propecia causes side effects which is also the truth, and a lot of the other products look like scams.
When I go to CVS I see ... hundreds? of over-the-counter products that supposedly help hair. For the average person this is a huge amount of noise to take in so they are in fact rational in concluding that it's all bullshit.
