I am 39 and have thinning hair, though there is no history of male pattern baldness in my family. I do suffer from chronic anxiety, insomnia, depression and an itchy scalp however and wonder if they are causing this? To treat my mental health problems, I am also very careful about what I eat and live mostly on fish and vegetables. Perhaps I am not getting enough protein?

Well to put into retrospect it's not a good sign.

Those itches usually result, and lead to thinning from my experience.

Area that were inflammed and had acne usually had thinning. I noticed this especially around my temple points

Do you mean that anxiety causes inflammation of the scalp which causes itchiness? Then the scratching= hair loss?

no anxiety doesn't cause your skin to form acne

But my entire body is covered in acne, especially from cycling steroids. Scalp not so much.

When I am anxious, and over heated I started itching profusely and getting irritated feelings on my body where their is acne inflammation

Hormonal changes will cause your skin to form acne. Which can causes itching, inflammation, and hair loss.

Anxiety can possibly affect you, as stress causes your body's flight or fight response to activate. Your adrenal glands will produce cortisol that can put your body's balance out of whack.
