If there was no such thing as losing hair you guys would be on forums saying your hair is too thick, too thin, too light, too dark. You have it all wrong.

My hair looks good now, I won't lie But when it was short, had a bald spot, and was diffusely thinning, I was actually a happier person. I hated it no doubt, but I started looking at the world outside of myself and liked the fact that I wasn't worrying all the time. Granted, now that I have a decent head of hair I don't want to revert, but I was a lot happier back then.

That's bull****. I hesitated for a year to join this forum, and still I don't have too big of a post count. I never joined any other forums related to "problems". I guess hair loss is a special one.

You're telling me that you've never been insecure about anything else concerning you?

Not trying to be condescending, I just know that I always had something about myself I didn't like in the past. Once I started losing hair, that became my primary obsession.

Yes of course I did. But it never was so severe as hair loss. When you're fat - you know you can lose weight and so on. Balding is genetics. Very ****ty genetics... No matter how down I was, I could have always just look at my long full hair in the mirror reflection and feel better again. I have just only aged into my looks in my early 20's, all my puberty related problems have vanished but suddenly my youth has ended where it should've started thanks to hair loss. I can't relate to young happy people anymore.

:agree: to some extant... hair loss is very diffrent from other things in a way that its completely ulter the way you look, while other things (like crooked nose, pointy ears, etc etc ) are things you are usually born with and used to seing yourself with.

also, most things you can fix or hide, you cant really do much if your hair loss is aggresive. and the only treatment is a pill that can make you impotant.

i wont go as far as saying "your youth are over" becuase nothing really stopping you from going out, getting drunk, traveling and other things people do in their 20's. with women, it will cripple you alot, but also.... if you work hard enough (very hard tbh..) youll still be able to get some tail.

its a shiity, unfair reality for us.... but its something you MOST cope with it. (what would you do if you were crippled from waist down? or imotent? at early 20's? life is all about dealing with shiit..)

Extremely true. Being crippled down to waist is worse of course. But being bald is much like being crippled too, in it's own way. Cosmetical disability? We're losing part of our body.

I wish there was something we could do, like getting in shape to lose weight, that we could do for this.

no, guys, no. having variety is good and all but balding isn't part of the spice of life, it's just pure garbage.

it has only weakened me mentally, nothing else. facing all kinds of different problems was easier before. has also made me more apathetic to life in the sense that im more inclined to run away from trials of life rather than face them now. i can't point out even a single aspect male pattern baldness has had a positive influence on for me personally.

I'm pretty sure that any other serious condition would've done the same to you. Some of us are just weaklings, like me. I act untouched but am in shatters inside. But in all honesty I'm sure that even my friends feel sorry for me, even though they don't say it. I mean, come on, I got loads of problems for a young man. My chances of ever getting a serious relationship are the same as for a guy in a wheelchair.

i've had other major problems in my life, those didn't affect me the same way hair loss did. i agree with Islander that baldness is a ''special'' problem, at least for some of us.
