I've Almost Made It: New System Almost Perfect!

Although I ordered bleached knots I didn't get it this time either (I guess they don't know what the word means). Also I wanted a graduated hairline which means I told them I want the lowest density in the very front 1 cm. Is this it? Don't think so. But I went much down with the overall density anyway, so it doesn't matter that much.

They cut a sample of my own hair to send to the company, so that's why the color match is close to perfect (still there is a slight purple shadow).

Also made the shape of the hairline a little bit more V for reality. Also decreased the surface area a lot: more than 1 cm in the back, so there's a bald strip there lol, but I want a longer haircut anyway, so it's covered with hair. Hopefully can one day also narrow it from the sides, though I'm getting bad traction alopecia on my healthy hair from the glue.

My next big goal: get all of this done over the Internet and get someone agreed and teach him/her to do the cut-in in this piece of sh*t small country with only one salon that does this job and they won't do it with systems not ordered through them.

So I'm not begging for help this time, but I'm sure you've got something to criticize or suggestions. Thanks!

Do you color dye the hair and the hair system?
I used to put black conditioner on my last one as it obviously had a red tint to it. I would have even called it red hair. Right now with this one I hope I don't have to. Perhaps from time to time some black to smooth it out even more.

I think concealers and hair systems work best if you have a single color like solid black hair. Matching brown hair is really though because of all the different shades.

Don't want to color the system because it will lessen the lifespan of it, no? I've heard it ruins the hair.

five systems later.

good job, if it finally appears like you have natural hair.

Extra light, light density is the best option to replicate a solid head of a natural hair. We have to take in consideration the sides, and back which most baldies tend to experience texture, color and density issues from.

Nothing more fake then a thick top, and diffused sides. It's always better to go with a light density route, and make your adjustments afterwards.

Hi Fanjeera - I can't really see much from those photographs to be honest, but I'm glad to hear you are feeling good about your current system. It has been a long hard grind for you. Well done for persevering till it came right.

i've left it quite long, so i can grow my own hair longer, so there hopefully will be a lot less blending issues with longer hair

Definite progress to what you posted before, but in my opinion there's a color mismatch between your bio hair (black #1) and the piece (brown, 1b) especially if I look in the Imgur album you posted.

You can color the hair piece, I've done mine 3-4 times and it hasn't been damaged in any way. Just make sure to avoid hitting the coloring brush in the system base as color will stain it.

Thanks a lot! I know that yes. There's actually even a slight purple hue. Could you please tell me what color exactly should I use? I know nothing about colors and I wish I did.

I went to a hair product shop and asked the sellers what I'd need to do to get them match and they just said that it matches perfectly and I shouldn't do anyhting :(.

I mean if I look at this pic of yours, it seems pretty obvious to me that there's a color mismatch:

Use normal Hair Color, I use this one on my system to match my sides: https://www.amazon.com/LOreal-Paris-Excellence-Natural-Packaging/dp/B000GCQXO4?th=1

But a fair warning, color will stain the base if you touch it and hair system hair absorb more color, so for your first try leave the color for not more than 10 minutes. It's best to search Youtube for tutorials as there are various videos were people color their hair systems in different ways. Also when you do hair color, color your sides as well, this gives the best results but be aware that hair color can damage your natural hair.

The way I personally do it (and I don't recommend it, haha) is that I attach the piece like I normally do and then I color using a tooth brush and comb. This is risky as the piece is attached to my head firmly and so if I were to stain the front then I have no way to immediately clean it up.

flip the piece upside down, and tooth comb it. The dye will drip off.

As @hhaaiirr said, a little goes a long way. I wouldn't leave it on for more then 5 minutes personally, it will absorb fast.

Wearing a wig can be difficult. If the pieces texture, and color doesn't match it will look fake. The actual haircut needs to blend in, especially around the temple corners, which a lot of people have trouble doing. If it doesn't transition into your own bio hair, it will look like a wig.

If you have no temple points, then going for a slight recession is an absolute must. Nothing screams wig like vertical sides that are thinning with a straight hairline.

Thanks!

But still, how do I know which color exactly should I buy? Should I consult a hairdresser or the consultant in the beauty shop? Also, I wouldn't like to color my own hair, because then I would have to stay doing it, because it will grow out and if I order a new system and send them a sample of my own hair which is already colored I would get a color mismatch again.

How much is the slight recession you have in mind? If vertical sides, should the person basically come no lower than NW3?

Whatever color are your sides buy that. I linked you my own as an example.

The thing with a HS is you need to put in the work for best results. I mean leave out coloring your own bio hair and color the hair piece in small increments. Your own hair won't absorb much color if it's already dark.
