It seems as if that side has actually started growing down while also thinning slightly. Did anyone else have this happen to them too? Did it eventually re-thicken?
I went on it for two months and since being off it a month and a bit my hairline has lost ground ...
I'm thinking about going back on it ... But v scared I'll lose more ground !!!
No ... I came off it as thought I was experiencing gyno sides : nipple itch , body temp issues ... I think lots of my sides were in my head as anything that would go wrong , I'd blame propecia ! However I do think the nipple itch was very real ...
Thinking of trying 0.5g Monday Wednesday and Friday
What sides did you have ? How long were you on it ? Also did you maintain or regrow?
Let me know how it goes ... im sh*t scared I'll jump on propecia three times a week , it'll cause a shed and then my hair will thin even more .
I completely understand you! I kept whining here that propecia didn't do jack sh*t for me but I kept taking 1mg everyday regardless. It was only in the last month that I had started taking 3-7 days off here and there then back on for 1-3 days. I couldn't figure out if my head pressures and anxiety attacks were blood pressure or propecia/minoxidil/general-supplements related.
And here I am looking at my hair with 9 months on which until the last month I took it almost consistently 1mg everyday.
It's easy to say "stick with it" for 1-2 years to see results if you don't get severe side effects. But once you start playing with dosages and cutting them in halves or quarters and taking only 2-5 times a week then is it still worth it to stick with it for 1-2 years?
I'll also say that if anything it's the minoxidil that really gave me the best results. In the past I used only minoxidil with nothing else for 8 months and had great results. Then I stopped caring (huge mistake) and did nothing for 1.5 years and lost a lot of hair but I was still "ok", then I started propecia only for 5 months, 1mg mg everyday, hair kept getting worse, I panicked and added dutasteride and on alternate days, i.e. one day dutasteride and 2nd finasteride and so on. This lasted for maybe anothee 3 months until I f*****g quit both because I had lost so much hair and also felt general fatigue and frustration for seeing clumps hair fall.
But now with 9 months on propecia and 5 months on minoxidil I can see some hope (assuming I'll be fine and don't have to quit the meds), which is why from past experience, I credit minoxidil to most of my gains, tho I can never be really sure. Heck, maybe even biotin + msm helped thicken my hair shafts a bit.
So is propecia is working for you?
