It seems as if that side has actually started growing down while also thinning slightly. Did anyone else have this happen to them too? Did it eventually re-thicken?

Be patient, It works on 93% of men, be optimistic. You wont see any regrowth in the 4th month, you'll see a little bit of shedding, but not like the first two months. Hair grows about an inch or half an inch every month so it takes time to see regrowth. But im sure you will benefit from it

I went on it for two months and since being off it a month and a bit my hairline has lost ground ...

I'm thinking about going back on it ... But v scared I'll lose more ground !!!

Why did you go off it ? Do you feel more of a man now?
For me 1 week break from propecia and it's like I feel more of a man, more energy, also more horny. I didn't realise I was affected.

No ... I came off it as thought I was experiencing gyno sides : nipple itch , body temp issues ... I think lots of my sides were in my head as anything that would go wrong , I'd blame propecia ! However I do think the nipple itch was very real ...

Thinking of trying 0.5g Monday Wednesday and Friday

Good idea, i may do that as well soon. Taper back on 0.5mg 3x week.

What sides did you have ? How long were you on it ? Also did you maintain or regrow?

I'm 9 months on now. I was "fine" till around 7th month, I use the term fine losely because I believe without propecia I'm a slightly better version of myself. Then I been getting very annoying forehead and eye sockets tension/pressures, and when that happens I just can't focus or think straight and I'm confused a lot, and with that I been also getting anxiety attacks which lead to nausea, chest pains, short of breath and general uptight feeling. Oh and my blood pressure dips into stage 1 hypertension sometimes.

Here's everything I was using:
- propecia brand 1mg ED
- minoxidil foam , heavy usage, 1 month can finishes in 1.5 weeks
- castor orally , 2ml
- biotin 5000mcg
- msm powder - 1 teaspoon
- then a long list of general supps like zinc, mag, vit c,vid, ginko bilova, fish oil, multi, b-complex etc ...

During the month (around 7th month) where I started getting strong head/eye tension like I've never felt before, i was on antiobiotics doxycyline 100mg a day which i ordered from india for my acne. I really hope that did not mess me up some how. By the time sh*t got real i quit EVERYTHING. Then i restarted with propecia only, felt fine, then added minoxidil next day, felt ok, maybe slight headache, then added back biotin and msm. And later added some zinc, mag, vid d.

Afterwards i felt like sh*t again and quit everything for 1 week. I feel better as a whole being, but the head pressures were still there and there are still f*****g now as im typing it. Im going to a neurologist tomorrow.
I cant even lift. I get such strong head pressures in the gym and i get dizzy feeling quite easily that i just fck around with low weigEhts and always have to end my workout in the middle.
Pills for headaches dont do sh*t really most of the time.

After seeing my hair fall endlessly my hair was finally gettijg better that I manned the fck up and stop using toppik and it doesnt look that bad anymore altho now im going thru this deal and i play with the meds on and off and im worried for how long i can do this trial and error before its gonna affect me. I wanna go back on propecia asap so i might try agaim 0.5 three times a week.

Let me know how it goes ... im sh*t scared I'll jump on propecia three times a week , it'll cause a shed and then my hair will thin even more .

I completely understand you! I kept whining here that propecia didn't do jack sh*t for me but I kept taking 1mg everyday regardless. It was only in the last month that I had started taking 3-7 days off here and there then back on for 1-3 days. I couldn't figure out if my head pressures and anxiety attacks were blood pressure or propecia/minoxidil/general-supplements related.

And here I am looking at my hair with 9 months on which until the last month I took it almost consistently 1mg everyday.

It's easy to say "stick with it" for 1-2 years to see results if you don't get severe side effects. But once you start playing with dosages and cutting them in halves or quarters and taking only 2-5 times a week then is it still worth it to stick with it for 1-2 years?

I'll also say that if anything it's the minoxidil that really gave me the best results. In the past I used only minoxidil with nothing else for 8 months and had great results. Then I stopped caring (huge mistake) and did nothing for 1.5 years and lost a lot of hair but I was still "ok", then I started propecia only for 5 months, 1mg mg everyday, hair kept getting worse, I panicked and added dutasteride and on alternate days, i.e. one day dutasteride and 2nd finasteride and so on. This lasted for maybe anothee 3 months until I f*****g quit both because I had lost so much hair and also felt general fatigue and frustration for seeing clumps hair fall.

But now with 9 months on propecia and 5 months on minoxidil I can see some hope (assuming I'll be fine and don't have to quit the meds), which is why from past experience, I credit minoxidil to most of my gains, tho I can never be really sure. Heck, maybe even biotin + msm helped thicken my hair shafts a bit.

So is propecia is working for you?

If I manage to get my health on track and figure out what's causing my almost daily head pressures and anxiety attacks which leave me completely dysfunctional to the stage where I can't even make a toast or something; AND I can *resume 1mg daily* then yes I guess it was "working" for me. Or at least I could say the combo of finasteride + minoxidil (twice daily) was "working" for me. I still see tons of hairs fall which is alarming although my family members tell me my hairs has improved quite well.

As of today this morning I used minoxidil foam last night after a 4 days break and I still have been off finasteride for 4 days now. Going to see a neurologist today. I wanna get well and healthy and back on track with my regimen. My last month looked like 4-5 off propecia, then 2-3 days on. Hopefully it's not the meds causing the issues.
