I've heard much about minoxidil causing hairloss to worsen

I stopped using minoxidil over a week ago. I started applying Borage oil/Copper Peptides/Emu iol. My shed has stopped finally.
I'm starting to wonder if the oils are the cure or if stopping minoxidil was the real reason.

Question: minoxidil Accelerating male pattern baldness?
I am about to start my third bottle and I have lost about half my hair on top and in the front over the past 4 months. Could it have sped-up my male pattern baldness, or am I in the middle of a massive shed? I'm 35 now and have always had a thick mane. The hairs that are falling out are thin and greyish/brown looking. There is no bulb at the end. I am hoping there are replacements on the way, or I'll be slick down the center by the end of the year.

I hear you buddy. I'm close to your age and have been using minoxidil for years. It has never done anything for me and it appears as tho my thinning correlates to where I apply it. However I've been too scared to drop it cuz 'it may be helping' or 'I'll get a crazy shed'.
I'm beginning to wonder if minoxidil is simply no good for some folks.

I just can't decide if I want to give minoxidil a full year or not. At the pace I am going, I will be almost bald down the center in no time!
One good thing I have noticed about my regimine is the Beta-Sis I have been taking seems to have controlled my shed and/or stopped my hair from falling out as fast. I have never taken a DHT blocker except for Saw Palm, which wasn't working, so this is exciting for me if it keeps working. It could be one of the other supplements I am taking too...not sure yet.

I've been using just Rogaine since November of 2003. I think overall it has kept my hair on my head. Some parts have thickened more then others(thickened especially at the crown). I've gone through "sheds" at weeks at a time. But overall, I am satisfied wtih my results, not estatic about them, but satisfied. I wish I could grow back all my hair, but realistically, I am happy with having a lot more good hair days then bad.
