Im a student, and work in a cafe during the holiday periods. I wear a hat all day. Maybe look into opening up something similar, or even management in some sort of retail business.

You might consider professional sports, baseball or football?

They wear a hat, get their photos taken in hats, are famous and popular WITH the hat, and when the hat is off, they are often times barely recognizable in public. Perfect! And, you don't necessarily have to make it to the majors, even a nice minor league baseball gig will afford you the same luxury.

You know, there ARE hats out there that are quite acceptable for semi-formal use. Pick yourself up a classic black Kangol beret, worn backwards, JFK Jr and Samuel Jackson style. They look good even if you are in a suit, and are literally dripping with soul and style.

They wear hats at McDonald's...

I don't think anyone will take you seriously if your sole reason to change jobs is the perk of wearing hats all day. Especially not at 35k a year.

Jobs that require hats are 'uniform' jobs. sh*t-kicking fast food jobs and the likes.

This may be the dumbest thing you've ever considered.

What about being a medievall warrior??

You´re always in public wearing a helmet. Clearly its a high risk job to get in, but I bet you that with pillage you´r gonna make more than those 35k a year. (Oh!, and never forget dead enemy´s women, all for you to rape, mate  ).

Well, now I´m thinking of the tournaments, when you win, you know, the moment of revealing your face to the princess or whatever. But hey, you still can be the misterious Black Warrior who never shows his face, all day with his intriging and glamorous black helmet on.

I wear a hat to work every day pretty much.

I work in an office too, I probably shouldn't be allowed to, but I do.

I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't able to wear a hat everyday .

I've been trying to think of jobs I can wear a hat in too for ages. It depends what skills you have, but any kind of manual labour, electrician, plumber, brick layer, er miner etc would surely allow you to wear a hat.
Other than that you could consider self employment or some kind of internet business.
The need for 35k a year possibly knocks every one of my suggestions on the head though so maybe you'll have to live a bit more cheaply for your wish to be granted.
If you are going around without a hat at work at the moment I would say you're better off never starting down the hat route anyway. Easier said than done I know cos you're obviously self conscious, but in the long term it's not worth it.
Good Luck.
