A separate issue is that he is a new poster. He might not have any awareness of how @hellouser's pilgrimage to Abilene last year greatly benefited this community.

I think most people should focus on the fact that we are sending someone who is part of this community to represent us. As a bonus, he gets to go to Japan. He basically is a gateway to these doctors who might not give anyone else here the opportunity to ask questions tailored to this forum. A lot of posters know Hellouser for many years and have developed an online relationship with him. By donating some money towards his trip, its a way to show in good faith you appreciate the relationship. If you don't feel that way towards him then you might not feel any obligation which is totally understandable.

I didn't have to meet the CEO of Follica but I did it because I wanted to represent the community here. I don't have great hair loss but I still have developed a "bond" with alot of members here and I wanted to just do something good for the community. Of course, I think the science behind Follica would be interesting so that was another reason why I wanted to do the interview. I really did not want anything in return but the admin did give me great recognition. That in itself was beyond my expectations. I just wanted to help those here who really needed some hope because I feel I owe that much to this forum. We have alot of great people here and I felt privileged to be the one to represent them even though I did not get enough information that would wow us. So if you feel any type of bond toward Hellouser or this community then contribute. If not, then just appreciate the fact that someone here is going to represent this community and provide his experience if you are interested. If not, then read those threads that interest you.

As for the last two -- don't make incorrect assumptions. I've argued against the blackout though that wasn't necessary as it wasn't going to happen. And I've written to nameless that these threads probably don't provide positive value.

I've given enough to the community and subscribers of the site actual to justify saying "I won't be contributing money" to an expedition that is unlikely to bear fruit of importance to technologies that I've written about, and are of interest to 90% of readers who will be able to find all relevant info from official sources and media as well as this website anyway.

But no, you and any moron that agrees with you would rather roast a contributing member, because contribution is apparently not a justification to not donate money when the majority of people just read the info posted and go about their day. 1. Those with the means to contribute.

2. Those who are going to read the information that Hellouser brings back from the Congress.

3. Those without a morally acceptable and reasonable reason for not contributing.
