I'm 21 just started losing my hair (noticably anyway) 5-6 months ago.. and it hit pretty hard.. (my temples the most :()

I think I should see a doctor first to make sure its not my thyroid or something (please let it be my thyroid). *have had suspicions about my thyroid long before i lost hair*
after that maybe a dermatologist to confirm my balding..

Anyways I think I'm most definitely going to get on finasteride..

Does finasteride cause any initial shedding or is that just mino?

also is mino worth taking if I still have plenty of hair (like a nw1.5).. I think mino gives you something like fake hair? and makes your hair rely on it to grow?

and for nizoral you guys just stake that as shampoo right? and how often should i use nizo? 3 days/week too much?

Can taking propecia maybe help regrow my hair?

the lighting isnt the best but its there.. it might not look bad but its much thinner than it was 1 year ago.. also my hairline was closer further back then as well.. so if that's not balding idk what that is.

tldr: I'm thinking finasteride+nizo shampoo+biotin.. anything you guys recommend throwing in? (the attached thumbnail is a pic before i started balding.)

Fully thick norwood 1 with no sign of a receding hairline despite garbage quality photographs thinks he's got male pattern baldness.

When can I become a mod and start banning these trolls?

my dad is horse shoe bald.. and my hair is DEFINITELY thinned a lot in the past few years? can you tell me you genuinely see no concern? I'm sorry if I'm offending but I think it's very early stages

it might be early stage male pattern baldness. On the other hand it might just be a maturing hairline which almost all men get.

you'd be unwise to consider Propecia until it's beyond reasonable doubt you have male pattern baldness

that's it really.

All hair at the hairline is 'fine' hair. You need to see a shrink. you know what I'd give to have your hair?

Fair enough, that's why I said i'd see a Doctor/derma first.. but in the case that it's confirmed (which I honestly believe it will be pretty strongly) I think I should just take nizo/finasteride for my conidition? maybe some bioton too..

Fair enough but keep in mind im only 21 (I know people some people start balding before that but still).. I just rather keep what I have now then when its mostly gone.. I guarantee I had much more hair 1-2 years ago. So if it's normal for your hair to thin/receed from 1 year ago then fine.. im just paranoid..

What is wrong with you all, it is possible enough he has male pattern baldness, if he has seen some changes and look at those hairs along the hairline.

You are all awesome people, just stop this "if you're below NW2 you are not balding" bu****it. Maybe he cought it early. OP, see a hair transplant doctor or a trichologist, they will tell you if you are balding. Don't go to a dermatologist, they are full of s**t.

Agreed, but it's only Fred and Hellouser being jealous of the lower norwoods. Getting annoyed by them...

Looks fine to me, but I think it's always best to see a specialist. Don't dismiss it as a mature hairline and forget about it, because you can't really know if it will progress further. Never mind the naysayers, catching it early is key.

Why? Cause the derms told you how of an idiot you are by obsessing with unreal male pattern baldness? lol

No but seriously, these threads are insulting to the community and you should take a hike op.
