I don't agree with bobster on finasteride, but he's right on RU. It has a very good safety profile, and its metabolized into an extremely weak anti androgen with a short half life once it enters the blood. Even with continuous dosing of like 200mg a day you wouldn't have a significant amount of it build up in your system

where do you get this information though? For the record, i have nothing against RU, i just dont know how someone could run around saying RU is safe and then turn around and say propecia isnt, just doesnt add up to me. People report heart palpitations on RU. In finasterides case, the list of side effects are HANDED to us everytime we buy the pills.

Hey!

About a year ago I've started using Minxoidil 5% twice daily and Nizoral twice a week, but unfortunately it didn't really haly my hair loss. I went to see my doctor and she prescribed me with propecia.

On my first two days, I took 1mg and began to feel sensitivity around my nipples.
On my third day, I took 0.5 mg and while sides deceased, but my nipples still felt sensitive (no lumps). Also, my semen got watery (but heard it's common).

Besides that I haven't had any sides.

I know that the body needs some time to adjust to the drug and was wandering, what do.

I scheduled another appointment to see the doctor but was wandering what are your guys' experiences? I'm concerned about gyno - since I have had it as a teenager and got a surgery (which, my surgeon at the time said it is virtually impossible to get gyno again).

I would suggest starting with an incredibly small dose and, either sticking with that all the way through, or upping the dose after sometime. I'm definitely an advocate for micro dosing finasteride (doses of .05mg or so). I just started this yesterday and have yet to notice anything abnormal. There are multiple studies showing that this dose will achieve scalp inhibition of DHT very close to what 1mg will, while achieving inhibiting less serum DHT as opposed to 1mg, which I find to be a good thing, in theory. Also, doses of around or about 0.05mg will take at least 14 days to achieve maximum inhibition, while doses of 1mg achieve maximum inhibition within 24 hours--this is the thing I find most important. It doesn't make any sense why you would want to surprise your body and change your hormones so intensely, and so quickly. There are plenty of medications where you're meant to titrate up so you don't stress out your body in one way or another. Definitely something for you to consider especially if you're in the early stages. I would bet a lot that you (and I) will have lower chances of experiencing sides, even with increasing the dose from around 0.05mg to a higher amount over time, than someone who drops 1mg on themselves to begin with.

This. RU and seti and all that sh*t might work. But it takes weeks-months of online research just to get coherent answer of whether it works, if its safe, how to obtain it etc. Why wouldn't they be selling it as a solution if it actually worked? Why wouldn't there be news coverage? Merck makes billions off of propecia...a competing pharma company could easily come in and sell RU or Seti if it actually worked.

Millions of people take propecia, less than 5% reports side effects. In the blind study, 5% of the people who took the placebo also reported sexual side-effects (big hint that its mostly mental). With finasteride, you can get counseled by your doctor if you're concerned about issues or need help. If you told your doctor, 'hey I took this experimental drug that people on a website recommended' you'd be on your own.

Actually the number of users are probably below 1 million. Looking at the latest numbers from merck, about 700 000 with a prescription.

Regarding the RU, I completely agree. I don't see why anyone should take it over finasteride, unless finasteride doesn't work for you. If something goes wrong with finasteride you can still get help and there are people online who can help you out.

I can attest RU 58841 works and works better than Propecia.

Speaking from personal experience there old Bobster?

Seems like kind of a silly thing to say. Almost every positive report I've seen on it seems anecdotal at best. Most/all the success stories I've seen with it, it was being used in conjunction with minoxidil and/or finasteride, 2 things we KNOW actually work

Propecia/finasteride on the other hand has studies widely accepted by the medical community showing it to work in the majority of men, and we have countless success stories from people using finasteride alone
