Just started spironolactone

Hey guys,

I have been on the big 3 for almost 3 years now (I am 22 yrs old), and still holding strong Norwood 1.5, however my hairline is ever so slowly receding back, so I've added 5% spironolactone from CEM starting today. The smell is like a skunk, so I think its only going to be nightly apps for now. I will post if it improves the hairline and temple region.

Does it matter what order I put on minoxidil or spironolactone? I am doing spironolactone first for now, waiting a few minutes and then adding minoxidil.

My current regimen is now:
finasteride 1 mg/day
spironolactone 5% .5 mL 1x/nightly hairline
minoxidil 5% .5 mL 1x/nightly hairline
Nizoral 1% or 2% every few days
Folligen spray occasionally

dr lee says the order does affect the odor. just don't mix them in the same bottle. but I've read posts from people that applying them 2 hours apart is enough for there to be a smell. Definitely the minoxidil first, since it will absorb faster, though only 2% is absorbed and the rest stays on the scalp.

Are you guys telling me that if you sniff the cream, it stinks?

I have been using Min+spironolactone combination and can confirm that it stinks. I first apply Min and then apply spironolactone (tried after 15 min , 20 min , half hr and even 1 hr but result all the same it stinks.... only difference is if I apply spironolactone after 1 hr of applying Min it doesn't stink much....)

But since I am seeing some improvement I am putting up with it.

I use the 5% spironolactone solution from CEM, putting that one on first, followed by minoxidil. Does it really matter which order you put them on?
