Brief intro, I am 30 years old from the Uk and after lots of reading on hair loss i have bit the bullet and started on Propecia taking it 3 times a week Mon , Wed and Fridays. My hair is about Norwood 3 and has been thining over the last 5 years with the last year it getting more noticable. I am using nizoral and Jason thick to thin shampoos around 3 times a week.
I will be glad if i can maintain what i have but will keep an eye on what goes on in the next few months and see how i respond to Propecia.
Thanks for reading and wish me luck guys!! :)

If I may ask, why only 3 times a week and at what dosage? I'm asking because I'm leaning towards suggesting 1mg once per day (everyday). :)

After doing a lot of reading on these forums I reckon that 1mg dose of finasteride will do its job well for atleast 2/3 days so taking it 4 times a week to start with seems the way to go. I can always up it if needed, it also more than halfs the price! :)

Where can you get generic Propecia cheaply in the UK without having to pay for an expensive private prescription? Anyone?

I am from the UK and have been using Finpecia from United Pharmacies (UK) for 3 years now with good results.

Here's my song and dance that I give to people just starting on their hairloss fight......
http://www.4rx.com/online-pharmacy/cate ... pecia.html

I've been taking Finasteride from them for the last 3 years. My hair loss went from 200 hairs a day to about 25, so I know it wasn't just a sugar pill or something like that. They have online support for questions, and they told me this: "We have more than one supplier for the same medication and we ship out according to the availability of the stock. We carry generic Propecia manufactured by GenPharma, Sunrise, Cipla and Intas Lab Pvt."

If you're worried about budget, then I would suggest going for 90 1mg caps first. If you don't have a problem with sides then make your next order the 5mg caps and you can quarter them (1.25mg) to save some money.

2 money saving tips if you go there...
1: Let's say you want 90 caps. Add the 30 caps to your cart instead. It will take you to a checkout page, but it will also give you a chance to upgrade your order to 90 pills for $7 cheaper. Same goes for if you want to get 360, add 180 to your cart first
(this only works for the 1mg pills, not the 5mg)

2: Use the promo code Q52EM37T during checkout for another 10% off. That's my promo code that I got for being a return customer, so feel free to use it :)
(this works for anything you buy there)

Here's my story, so you know that I'm trying to sell you on the product...not the website :)

I get Finast (Dr Reddy's) from UnitedPharmacies and they are delivered in less than a week (to UK). Excellent service.

Quick update been taking propecia for just over a month now, there has been a definate decrease in hair loss much less coming out when combing in the shower etc.. I can run my hand firmly through my hair and might get 1 or 2 hairs coming out where as before it was say 5-10. Only sides i have noticed are an increase in libedo after the first few weeks. Not sure what to exspect from now on but i assume a shed is coming at some stage hopefully followed by some new thicker hairs.
