hi, i was wondering if anyone has tried using ketaconzale 2% daily, as i saw in the japanese trials that the participants were shampooing daily and using 2% nizoral lotion daily? (i am currently using 2% every other day and my scalp and hair are feeling fine, so no negative effects)

also, i read that ket is absorbed better in acidic conditions, therefore would i increase my absorbtion rate by rinsing my hair with a cider vinegar solution first, especially as the water where i live is alkali?
any opinions will be most welcome

hey man i would be careful with too much absorbition. i think you can get lowered libido from it if too much is absorbed. but hey you can try and see what happens.

I use nizoral 2% as a prewash to revita shampoo. seems to be going ok so far =)

oh, sorry i wish I could answer those questions but just for the general convo topic, I also had some ket questions. I was wondering about the exact effects of keto. Does it reduce inflammation, reduce 5ar, bind to receptors, or a bit of all of them? I believe it is also antimicrobial/antifungal

As for your qs erm, I'm really not so sure, but yes I would imagine the shampoo left on for 5 minutes in the shower is probably adequate, 3 times a week say, 4 if you feel like it one week lol

But yeah, for now I like the stuff as it seems affordable and effective

however, my question regarding 2% everyday was based on my suprise that it had not been experimented with by more people due to the excellent results in the japanese study.
Furthermore, i was generally just looking for opinions regarding creating more acidic condition on the scalp to increase absorption.

From the following study it seems unlikely that side effect will be experienced even when being used every day due to the small area being treated with ket while shampoing. I think the only issue could be a dry scalp, which i would have to keep an eye on.

Abstract
The percutaneous absorption of ketoconazole was studied in 7 infants (1 to 5 month of age) with extensive seborrhoeic dermatitis (greater than 50% of the surface area), after application of a 2% ketoconazole cream (Ketoderm). The plasma concentrations of ketoconazole were measured by HPLC at the first, 5th and 10th day of the treatment. Despite the large surface involved, plasma levels ranging, from 0.018 to 0.133 micrograms/ml were measured. These values are low, as compared with the concentrations observed following oral administration (4 to 9 micrograms/ml), and suggest that the occurrence of systemic dose-dependent side effects is very unlikely. A careful monitoring of prescription remains however necessary.

I'm using 2% cream everyday since 1 month and a half.
I've seen really good improvement on my hair.

Before i used sometimes keto shampoo but no way i found it near in term of efficacity as the keto cream.
This is the most important conclusion i found.
Cannot compare Keto shampoo and keto cream.

Cream is way superior than the shampoo..i can let it all the day and it doesn't irritate my scalp at all like the shampoo.

I was thinking sincerely to find something more than Finasteride because first it's an oral medication and second i had decreased libido.

This time ,in my opinion,keto cream 2% is working amazingly for me...to the point that i'm cutting my proscar ingestion only taking it every 3 days and less than 1 g.

What i've seen in only 1 month in a half is:

-Hair is growing faster
-Hair look thicker..don't know if it's only a cosmetic appearance by the way it look thicker
-When washing my hair or pulling it,i lose only some few hairs in comparaison with before.
-Hair look less oily..i can stay 3 days without washing it...and it still look good.

Reading various articles talking about keto cream and seeing myself the result..i can say that it's working very good.

There's already something available,cheap ,easy to get with tremendous potential and topical. :bravo:

Keto shampoo is nowhere near compared to keto cream imo.

Let the product all the day ..they sould be no problem,the effect is totally superior thant just a shampoo for 5 minutes..

Don't need to use acidic environment..it's already working putting it on the scalp naturaly.

Keto ,on the cream form..has very good potential..i've tried many things..it's one of the best.

Although if ketconazole continues to save my hairline, it will be getting enough praise from me alone lol

and wow the cream does sound pretty good from what I'm reading. So, I could still just leave it on for about like 5-10 minutes right? And there are no significant health risks of leaving it on longer? I think too much keto in your blood is bad, but I don't know how much finds it's way into your system.

I feel as though keto may be making things worse for me. Seems like I shed more hairs when I use it. Went off for a few weeks and no real loss. started back up and started noticing more loss. It dries my hair out pretty bad also. Only use it 3 times a week.

Anyone else have this problem with keto?

Yes..why not, maybe using both can be good ,but for me at the moment,i just stick with the keto cream not with the shampoo.

No,i'm not from the Uk,i'm from France.

It's quit easy to get the cream in a pharmacy in France..normally you should have a prescription but as it's a very common medicine prescribed for yeast infection,so i can have without it.

It's very cheap imo..just around 4 euros and one tube last around 3 weeks at least.

Sincerely i'm very pleased with the result.

IMO and how it has worked for me..it's true that i was afraid at the beginning to let the product all the day versus the shampoo only 5 minutes.

I was afraid to have some sides effect on my scalp or shedding but nothing bad happen.

Before i used the shampoo as normally used..for example 2 or 3 times a week for some months and i didn't have the result i have now.

The thing to let it on the scalp all the day should be way superior than just a shampoo for some minutes and maybe the cream get better on the scalp.

As said before,i was looking at to find an alternative to finasteride because the possible long term side effect and the decreased libido.

If i can stick with keto cream with this result,and reduce my finasteride intake..that will be great.

Imo regarding to my experience..keto is very good..it has very good potential.

i'v read a bit about other people having better results with miconazole for growth and was wondering whether anyone had an opinio on perhaps rotating the two creams
i was thinking maybe ket for 2 days and mike for one day seeing as they hang around in the scalp for a while

Thats exactly what happended to me, i've got bad sexual side effects after being on this stuff for weeks i went though a whole tube of 15g which was 2% strength. I stopped using it just under a week ago and i still have sides.

Does anyone else have a similar story to share, I'm worried that i wont recover from this.

How long did 1 tube last (i.e how often did you apply the cream) and what side effects did you experience ? I think it's very unlikely that the cream will cause sexual side effects, unless you are literally soaking your scalp twice a day. Also, be sure to wash your hands with soap after the application, ketoconazole is very lipophilic, so a splash of water will not be enough to remove it from your fingers/hands.

Just a scenario: you take a shower, apply the cream to your scalp and get on with your daily routine. Meanwhile the keto is not washed off your hands properly --> you decide to make lunch and unintentionally give your self a small oral dose of ketoconazole.

Ketoconazole also has a tendency to accumulate in fingernails and hair (oral keto), but I think it's reasonable to assume that the cream version will accumulate in some way, aswell (albeit in very small amounts).
