Ketoconazole Plus Minoxidil For Receding Hairline?

I went to a follow up visit with a dermatologist this week, and also to a hair surgeon expert for second opinion. The dermatologist said there is a potential slight receding hairline, and recommended viviscal, as well as ketoconazole 2percent shampoo prescription (small DHT inhibit effect), and to consider minoxidil. She said she could give me propecia, but in her opinion is too early to start, and I should see my progress with recommended medication before. Diagnoses done by pull test and looking at scalp(no microscope)

I went to the hair implant surgeon today, he used a microsope to look for minutarization. He said that there is a small minutarization going on on hairline leading to Norwood 2. All other hair on scalp is fine. He however also said that propecia is not recommended at the moment(he did not know I met with the dermatologist). He recommended the same thing, vitamins(viviscal is fine he said), prescription ketoconazole 2 percent, and to make sure I start minoxidil(rather than just recommended as dermatologist).

Have you guys seen any success with Minoxidil/Ketoconazole/viviscal together or by themselves on receding hairlines hairlines?

Yes, I have. But if I remember correctly, you're 30 right? So why not just hop on finasterie and stop the miniturization of your current follicles? Your hairline looks very good and minoxidil might be annoying so I don't see why not just go for finasteride and keto.

i see some miniaturization on the hairline, but nothing looks deliberately indicative of male pattern baldness. Could just be a mature/ing hairline. How are your parents and any pics of your hair from when you were younger?

Edit: minoxidil/keto can probably only stave off the miniaturizing process for so long. DHT sensitivity is variable among people; so for some, those two are all they may need. For others with a higher sensitivity, more potent methods may be the only solution. Your dad should give you a rough idea of the hair you might inherit.

I'd never heard of viviscal before so I had to Google it. Holy sh*t balls they're charging £50 for multi vitamins

Males from my dad side of the family all have a full set of hair, mom side all males go bald. I used to have a hair style that would cover the front of my forehead when I was younger, so I cant really find any pictures that show the hairline as it is always cover with my previous hair style.

Yes, I am 30. I am debating on that too. My dermatologist gave me a 60 day prescriptions for finasterine, telling me that she recommends I dont use it, but she did not want to deny me the medication so she gave me the prescription. She did say she does not recommend to use it, but it was up to me to decide(that is what I got nervous) The hair transplant doctor also said he did not recommend it due to side effect until people start to show signs of hair loss on the crowd. I think he just does not believe it has much effect on the hairline as it does on top of head.

Yes, it is quite expensive. it claims to help here grow, i guess a natural way to have the same impact as minoxidil according to their marketing.

Yes, I am 30. I am debating on that too. My dermatologist gave me a 60 day prescriptions for finasterine, telling me that she recommends I dont use it, but she did not want to deny me the medication so she gave me the prescription. hairline is hard to recover because, in a lot of cases, people who've started to notice that theirs have receded dont find out until it's too late. by the time they decided to jump into treatment, the follicles that form the hairline would've already been atrophied to the point where regrowth for those areas is minimal to none. it's no surprise that a lot of people who experience relatively aggressive hair loss, over a short period of time, may respond very well to finasteride & minoxidil because they went into treatment immediately after rather than years after.

I've never heard of this crap either. Searched on eBay and you can buy there 60 tablets(1 month supply) for 22$. 55% cheaper than buying straight from their website. Doesn't sound too bad but i'm not sure if it really works. Need to check ingredients.

It’s 30 on amazon. I called Viviscal number, they said amazon version is legit as they sell their products to amazon. Viviscal representive couldn’t explain why it was cheaper on amazon, but recommended to buy it there as long as it says sold by amazon.com . She said it is probably to have a good impact of helping miniaturized hair grow up if you are on the early stages slowing down the process.

To tell you the truth i doubt that it works. If worked like minoxidil but in natural way than we would hear more about it.
