Kicked the minoxidil...

I have finally come to the hypothesis that a moist scalp is needed to grow hair and that a dry scalp cannot.

I think that any product, even with DHT inhibiting properties will do no good when it is suspended in an alcohol base. The alcohol dries the skin terribly, probably causing the itch.

After my discovery, which is still being ignored by the way, I kicked the minoxidil. And with my new regimen, my shed has virtually stopped. It's been about 2 weeks now and there are at most 3 hairs in the sink where there used to be over 50 every day. I have a new hairline emerging and the hairs are growing and pigmented.

This is exciting for me, as I've tried dozens of products over the years and the finasteride results have been weak. The shed did not even slow down with finasteride. at 1.25 mg a day.

Everything that happens on your scalp today is the results of what happened inside of it a few months ago.

If you're seing regrowth now, it is probably because of the Minoxidil.

Wait 3 months baby...you will be sorry to drop minoxidil!! :)

No he shouldn't be sorry because whatever he loses after 3 months will grow back.

Remember minoxidil does not interfere with the fundmental balding process. To coin a phrase the only reason to use it is to provide an offset of extra hair growth, above and beyond what you would normally have without it.

Maybe so, maybe not.

They do say that if you qiut it, you will probably lose the hair. A real possibility. The thing is that I was on minoxidil years ago with the same results. A few white hairs popped up. They never really grew either.
Yeah, they did disapprear later, but they were only visible under a bright white light (which also accented the scalp).

The hairs I have popping up now showed up within a few days. They are now growing longer. In only about 2 weeks. Do you think the minoxidil is to be credited. I think not. I've been on it for a good while. It was only when I started the new regimen that I saw real results.
I suppose I could add minoxidil on top of the other stuff.
No matter how you slice it up, I am finally growing real hair! :freaked:

goingoinbutnotgone,

What products are you using now that you dropped minoxidil?

I'm still sticking with Finasteride. I think it's a staple of any regimen.

What I did different was to apply oils to the scalp. I read about some one who regrew their hair by applying essential oils every day for 9 months and regrew it all.

I apply Borage seed oil to the scalp. Then I apply a copper peptide solution. Then I apply Emu oil. A later added 10 drops of Rosemary essential oil and 10 drops of Lavender essential oil in the Emu oil.

I know we have heard about these products and how they may help, but no one ever claimed results. I did make claims that I have results.
I am not here to sell anything. I am just like all the rest of you who are wanting to find the cure to this horrendous disease.

I simply want to share my findings.

Try it for a couple of weeks. I dare you all. Tell me if nothing happens!

I wish you the best, I really do. I can't say I agree with it but thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't say that oils won't possibly help, or delay male pattern baldness, or that they might possibly reduce inflammation that might possibly slow the progression of it. I am a strong believer in SOME herbals, specifically those that have earned a history of beneficial effect on some human ailments. Some herbals have been proven to have significant positive effects on human functioning, however, the ones you list are not on that 'proven' list.
