Kirkland minoxidil

Sorry to be a pain, asking all these questions but I was wondering if someone could confirm if Kirkland minoxidil is as effective as Regaine? It's a lot cheaper but if it's useless I don't want to waste my money.

I've only ever used Nizoral as a 'treatment' thus far but my hairloss has accelerated so much that I can barely look in the mirror anymore, I find it that repulsive. Probably going to grade 2 it in the next week and say goodbye to my hair for ever. Sometimes, life just isn't fair. Taking the scary step of started a regime (nothing extravagent...just MSM and minoxidil), if it doesn't work at least I tried.

One other question though....There must be some ppl on this forum that have prescribed to a treatment, had a shed, and then stopped taking it. In this scenario are you prone to losing the shedded hair permanently?

The first step for you is to try and not be repulsed by it. That's going to make it that much more difficult for you to follow your regimen and be objective about its results.

If I remember correctly, Regaine is just Minoxidil. Kirkland Minoxidil is just Minoxidil. Rogaine is just Minoxidil. I don't believe any brand has any difference in efficacy provided you get the minoxidil in the same amounts.

I can't answer the shedding question as I haven't gone through it. There are a lot of people that shed, freaked out, and stopped their treatments. For this reason it's likely hard to say. Most will recommend that you stay on your treatments for at least a year, and any shedding that occurred in the process should regrow thicker over time.

I'll say it again though. You first need to get a handle on your emotional response to the problem. I think we all went through it, and by reading your post it sounds like you're going through it now. It will stand in your way if you don't handle it.

Good luck!

I looked at the ingredients of both at walmart. They are all the same, unless you go to minoxidil.com, where Dr Lee mixes up all kinds of fancy mixtures. It never ceases to amaze me how many of the newbees freaking out on here are just NW1 with a little thinning on some spot on their heads. I'm glad they are starting soon, but that just tells me how bad I must look.

If it grosses you out that much, why don't you buzz it to a #2, but not stop the regimen? Stay on minoxidil. By equate brand at walmart for $17 for 3 months, or if there is no walmart near by, buy 4 months for $27 at minoxidildirect.com.

Why aren't you on propecia or topical spironolactone? Have you considered copper peptides? Since they were diluted from the clinical study concentration, and the solution they are in caused hair loss, I doubt Tricomin does more than 2% rogaine. However, the amount it does add should be in addition to rogaine, since I think they have different mechanisms.

I don't know why I bother writing long emails to people who say they plan to quite. Maybe so other people will read this.
