Read the studies, don't ask people.

Sure, well I used the generic for years and had decent results but experienced better results with the foam after testing it for 6+ months which has gone on for now probably 2 years? Anyways, I had some moderate improvements on my situation after switching from liquid to foam but this was only further substanciated after I ran out of foam, had like 6+ bottles of generic liquid remaining and was too lazy to reorder the foam. I felt that my situation regressed after a month or 2 so I switched back to the foam and sold the liquid to a member on here.

I know that this is not scientific but was merely my experience with the products so draw your own conclusions. I haven't even mentioned that the drying time for the liquid was like 2 weeks! and the foam is good within 10 minutes as well as the cosmetic factors, but anyhow. Thats my experience.

FYI...I was just the opposite. I used the liquid for 9 years, had good progress, but like everyone, application could be messy. Anyway when the foam came out with all the hype of how more effective it was and how easy it was to apply just had to go for it.

I really liked the way it made my hair look, and it was a snap to apply. In my mind I was really glad they came out with it. In about a months time I began to shed, similar to how I did when first using the liquid way back. I thought this would be good and I would end up with even more hair, sounded really good to me. Unfortunately the shed tapered off a bit but continued, this went on until one day I finally realized I was really loosing my hair again. I had no clue how much I had lost in my crown until one day I saw the back of my head in one of those security cameras in a store. I could not believe it. I got real desperate and went back on the liquid and hoped for some improvement. Nothing seemed to improve until 2 months later, just a bit but better than it was. I have remained on it since. I am not sure its all back yet, may have lost some due to the time I was on the foam, but I am pretty happy now.

IMO...foam is not nearly as effective as the liquid, just like the study indicates.

Ive used both. My hair stays wet for a couple of hours with the liquid so i tried the foam. The foam dries by the time i get to work, so i now use foam in the morning and liquid at night when no one sees my wet hair in bed!

Although the liquid stays wet for longer, you can use the dropper to direct it to the scalp and estimate 50% hits the target. With the foam it rests on the hair and you have to massage through the hair to reach the scalp. I guess the scalp only gets 10% of the foam. Despite the hair absorbing the majority, it still dries quicker than the liquid.

I did read on one of these forums that someone found the liquid worked better because it absorbs better when wet. From what ive read most people like foam due to its the ease of application and shorter drying times and i'll only use it when i need it to dry quickly.

Yeah, Foam in the a.m. and liquid p.m. is a good plan. Add a blob or two of retin-a on top of that before bed and you're good to go.

anyone who typed more than 3 words responding to Jm0311 wasted their time as he has asked these questions dozens of times and never reads the responses.

I find it very disrespectful of him.

We all have different metabolisms so different responder to Minoxidil.. Yes, there is a ton of studies out there, opinions, success stories...but the best answer is you have to try it by yourself on your own head. You are you own guinea pig when it comes to liquid/foam minoxidil and isn't that expensive and it is really easy to get. :salut:

What study was that? Show me please?

OMG!!! You are a moderator, don't you read any of the major threads? I even have it listed as my signature, just read through it and see for yourself. :)

A note....people on this forum don't read anything, they just keep asking the same question over and over again. If they would read the information they would not be using the foam and crying about it later.
