Less Dense In The Temples, A Sign Of male pattern baldness?

M22. I’m wondering if these less dense areas are indicative of male pattern baldness or not. https://imgur.com/a/pRPnIOo

My dad has a full head of hair at 50, and according to him, there’s no hair loss on his side of the family. According to my mom, though, her brothers were bald by their mid 20s, and her father died bald as well (not sure if due to genetics or simply old age). If the pictures do a bad job of illustrating my issue, think Frank Ocean - can still grow hair in said areas, hair still forms a straight NW1, doesn’t have a “chewed up” look at all, just not as thick in those spots.

My hairline hasn’t been a cause for concern until recently, so I have no way of really knowing if the density I have now is normal, or if it’s male pattern baldness. If it’s the latter, then that’s fine — I’m not really interested in fighting against my genes. I’ve shaved my head before, and I think it’s a good look on me, so I’m not super worried about how I’d look. Plus it wouldn’t be a huge departure from my current hairstyle.

Looks like male pattern baldness to me.

I’m thinking about tracking things over the course of next year. How long does it take for something like this to manifest into male pattern baldness? If it doesn’t thin at all over the next year, is it just normal density, or is it just slow balding?

This has already manifested into male pattern baldness. How fast does it reach the advanced stages is open for speculation since there's no telling about the time it'll take to reach the eventual pattern you're destined(based on your genetics) to land at. It may get worse quickly or it might creep inside slowly; nobody knows. But one thing is for sure, male pattern baldness has already started.

Should I go to a dermatologist and get a miniaturization test to make sure?

That would be perfect.

Another question: as a general rule, how much do these tests cost? I know in a lot of cases, things like high powered microscopes and even bloodwork is used to determine whether or not you have male pattern baldness, and all that stuff sounds pretty expensive, especially considering the fact that I don’t have an insurance provider. I know there’s no hard and fast rule, but is it normally cheap or expensive?

I feel you. It’s just that I want to know for sure. I’ve seen several guys with this, and they don’t seem to be balding. I know Steph Curry is another famous example.

I'm mean I always seen Curry as losing his hair so that may be why you think it's similar, but both those websites will have doctor's look at your pictures and give you a real answer....but tbh your catching it early and could possibly get that straight across hairline again if you act soon. Orbit may stay that way without treatments odds aren't great thiugh as your only 22 and as you approach 30 you'll surely experience more dht sensitivity and possibly follow your father grandfathers hairloss pattern....goodluck again
