My doctor didn't know crap about hair loss and told me there wasn't anything that I could do. He was a butser.

Well, i've been to a few doctors that told me the same. But i researched myself and found out the treatment.
Most dermatologists or general practitioners/personal doctors don't know much about hair loss. It is quite of shocking most of them haven't heard about finasteride or minoxidil...

As a desperate bald man I've seriously considered this but in the end it is just too extreme. They just need to find a damn cure already. Nuf said.

Don't count on them finding a cure, it may never happen. Aren't we sick about that "a cure will come soon, in 5 years"? I'll bet at least 50 more until a real cure, turning NW6 in NW1-2 will come
It is not that extreme...if you do it at a good company, it's ok,it's even reversible if you won't like it.
For guys in advanced stages who anyway shave their head everyday, this SMP may be a last option.

I appreciate the sentiment to find a solution for advanced hair loss suffers but like anything it is a tradeoff. You would have to shave your head with a razor EVERYDAY. Plus so many other things can and will go wrong eventually with time. It's a novel idea but it just doesn't endure. But then again, what does endure?

That is why I find the title of this thread ironic. Because there really is no putting yourself out of the misery. Every avenue isn't viable and with no hope in sight. Suicide is the only way out of the misery but I haven't the strength.
