Take time off school, deliver pizza or do pest control, pay your bills, and design it in your spare time. When you see how good you can look again, your depression will end. When you make more than minimum wage and can buy a used car, your depression will end.

Now that I see the pics, you're life is far from over. However strange it is for you to be thinning on the sides and back, it is infinately better than loosing it on the top since most guys fade the sides and back anyway, leaving the top longer (not the other way around)

My whole point was that "losing one's virginity" is not that big of a deal. It's not all that it's cracked up to be. It is for women more so than for men - it's mostly a "girl thing." I guess I forgot to mention that I lost mine to the prostitute at 15. Oh well. :jackit:

And there were a few on the previous pages also.

Actually I think its more of a guy thing than a girl thing

Well maybe things have changed. It was 1984 when I was 15 :freaked:

Anyways, I remember - me and just about all my buddies back then at that age, could care less "who" we did it with. Only thing that mattered was "if" we actually did it - period. Once we did it, "it" was no longer a big deal. To each their own.

Looking back upon it, I know now that it really wasn't a big deal whether I did it then or not. It doesn't affect my life now either way.

You are both saying the same thing but in a different way. The difference between men and women is that for us it's a big deal to have the first one under the belt, whereas for women it's the first time itself that is the big deal. In a way, for us having the action is the important part, and for women it's the action itself that is the centre of the attention.

As I already said, when I was a teenager, I just wanted to get rid off my virginity ASAP. It wasn't something to hold onto, it was a mental and physical block.

I'm gonna slightly disagree with dudemon, I think it makes a big difference in one's confidence to have sex. You could think of sex as London buses, you wait for ages and you are absolutely desperate to get on the bus but then then two come at once. Having sex gives us that extra confidence that radiates from us, and that attracts other women as well. I seriously do think that not having sex is a mental block.

There is also the hormonal balance part, having sex regularly definitely helps with relaxing the hormones. That goes both for men and women.

I'm about to reclaim my virginity its been over a year :(. Sexual frustration is a b**ch.

As for your hair it looks kind of similar to mine and I had to bounce back from worse. It's not that bad and the short hair looks good on you. Since it happened recently to you I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a lot of your temples back. Stick with the meds, best of luck.

Oh and as for the bus analogy. Here I'll be waiting for the train forever then 2 come in a row only to be trains for another line I don't need. That right there is a metaphor for my love life.

this got a little bit off topic

anyway
Doesn't the fact that I'm going real bald @ age 21 means my hairloss is too aggressive,
therefor the chances things will get better are ... less?

The lower on the Norwood scale you are the better your chances of not progressing if you get on the meds early enough. You may have the sh*t genetics for m.p.b but you're treating it in the early stages.

Nah dude you think you have it bad. I started losing mine around 15-16. I started meds about 4 months ago and have been doing alright. I think by summer I could be a Norwood 2-2.5 which would be good enough for me. I think you could do even better. Just keep on the meds, get the generics to save cash.

My current situation: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=49707

Very true. Once the follicle sends out signals to attract the immune system to attack, the signals just linger around. Propecia stops more from coming out. But once some are out, it is a gradual down hill. The immune attack is only part of it though. Some of it is hormonal within the follicle. So Propecia stops a big part of it. But my brother got on at NW5 and had not benefit at all --- just kept losing it. I got on at NW3, and very gradually got to NW4a, or maybe I was NW4a before. Hard to say. But even if you have very bad DNA, if you get on at NW1, you got a much better chance at staying at NW1. You got to get on propecia before you have any thinning at all.

I bet my top will go in the next 3 years, but Propecia will keep my sides thick, so I can still use a thick piece for the top and temples. I wish I had gotten on early like Bubka did.

anyway
1 month on finasteride -
I think my shedding began
Just shaved my head. again.

I thinks I need some pills or something because my mental situation is at its worst.
I keep thinking about it 24/7 I just can't deal with the fact im going bald.
I can no longer even talk to women anymore,
I see their eyes rolling up to my hair and coming back to my eyes and millions of thoughts are running through my head.

I don't think I'll ever be with someone anymore,
before it started I even tried hitting on women. it didn't work much but I still did it.
Now I simply can't , just can't.

Hair looks like crap,
so is my luck with women :|
ill keep ya'all updated.

Man, life is not over. ;)

You can never give up your life because of your hair! Sorry, but it's ridiculous, because you are MUCH MUCH MUCH more than it, we all are!

So do your treatment and relax a bit. Take it easy on yourself! ;)

Why don't you post a picture of your hair so we can see if it's really bad at all? :punk:

If I were as young as you I would take advantage of the casting call for MTV for real life stories. With some fame, you will definitely get your pick of hot women. I would try out for it and I am being totally serious.

i still think if you stick with the meds you will be pleasantly surprised in about 5-6 months. it's a long time i know, use it to get plenty of sleep, eat well, and exercise.

i know you don't believe me - but looking at those pics you caught it early, or at least soon after it started, so you are in very good shape to regrow and thicken a lot of that hair.

no side effects on propecia is a great first start.
