you using minoxidil at all? you have a good frontal hairline, and in my opinion, that is 75% of the battle since that is what most ppl see. use some minoxidil and maybe regrow some of that hair in the middle. i am jealous of your hairline

I think he is just overreacting, I did it too. He will get his head on straight. Plus he still has a hairline to frame the face and besides if he lost that much in that short amount of time I defientley think he can gain a good amount of it back.

Don't do anything stupid, you're 21 like me, barely at the beginning of your life.

all i can say man is give it time...this process sucks, but youre alternative is either let it all go and rock the bald guy look, let it go and get a hair transplant, or fight it with meds....meds take a looonggg time. you have to be patient. ive been on the big 3 for 7 months and am finally just starting to see peach fuzz and am praying it turns dark...just have to wait and see

just be happy u have a normal sized head. i just got back from the gym, and i saw this bald guy with the most bulbous, awkward, misshaped head i have ever seen. he had a nasty *** combover going, and honestly, he needed it. he would look awful without the combover and that almost is never true. you have to be thankful for what u have. decent lookin athletic guy with a good shaped head...could be a lootttt worse my friend (i just saw a special on the news about a kid with no chin!)

Yeah, so why worry? By six months you could see some great results.

This is what worked for me though and it may or may not work for you, while I do not have as much hairloss as you any hairloss at young age is rather frightening. So this is what I did, I went to a part of town where no one knew me rather late at night and basically let the wind mess up my hair. It drove me nuts even though there were less than a dozen people around but guess what no one stared or said anything. You know why? Because they are busy with themselves.

shedding = responding ?
I just buzzed my hair to level 0 2 days ago.

39 days on finasteride.

for the first time I've just rubbed my hair over the sink and noticed about 50 little hairs falling.
Some were thick most were tiny and thin.
Am I shedding ?
When should it stop ?
Isn't the shedding's suppose to happen during the first month? im on my second :\

overall - Is it a good sign or a bad one ? :(

it's definately a good sign. just go on... be really obsessively consistent and you will get results... most of the people do not get results because they just quit (it applies for everything in life... believe me I know). :freak:

I shedded big time for about a month and didn't see improvements until about 3 months in. I'm bouncing back from another shed at 5 months in but there are hairs popping up along the hairline this time. It's a rollercoaster ride and when people say give it a year they mean it. I'm still looking a lot better than when I started but the top slightly thinned out a bit from last month but I'm confident its going to come back even stronger. Be patient is all I can tell you.

To the original poster your life ain't over man! You're 21 and you've got your whole life ahead of you. You can do what you want to do in life so forget about getting a gf for the time being and focus on things you enjoy doing. I know how you feel because I lost my virginity at 26 to a prostitute and I got my first gf at 27. I have been losing my hair since I've been 18 and it had destroyed my confidence! I am slowly building my confidence up again now because I see many guys with hairloss with hot gf's and it hasn't stopped them for being successful. At the end of day it isn't the hairloss that women find a turn off its the way hairloss effects the person that they find a turn off i.e. gives you low self esteem, low confidence etc. As soon as you accept it and move on with life the better. I wish you all the best for 2009.

Dave :)

GBOY, take a deep breath and try to relax for a minute. My condition was worse than yours for 10 years and I am starting to make a comeback. You are 7 years younger than me so you should respond as well or better than I have. I also use powdered MSM in my protein shakes to speed up the process since I was sick of seeing my scalp in the lights. Try adding this, it can't hurt, especially if you are impatient like I was... Good Luck, I feel your pain. I started loosing at 18! :woot:

hi bears
thanks for the comment
Though you say youre condition was might worse than mine,
it took you alot of years to get there.
It took me just 6 months... And it doesn't look promising ATM.

You mixed the MSM with protein shakes ? what for ?
Is it better than just take it as a pill ?
I'm on MSM and propecia for almost 1.5 months,
I gotta tell you one of the things that freak me out is seeing the light on my scalp in the front.
I know it's kinda stupid to say but even if I could maintain the current hair I have,
just without the scalp reflection thing Ill be more than happy.

anyway I'm really looking towards the next months, just can't wait anymore.
I saw your results , if I could get just half of the regrowth you got I'll be damn glad.

UPDATING 40 DAYS ON finasteride PIC (tried with heaviest light as possible) , btw on what norwood am I ? ;\

You hair really does not look that bad at all. It is still really early. Not sure if mixing the powdered MSM in my protein shakes is any different than taking the pill. It was just a suggestion since it masks the taste of that stuff. Are you using Nizoral and minoxidil? If you don't use minoxidil, it will take you MUCH longer to see results. BTW you are a diffuse NW2, just like me.

yeah , I'm on the big 3.
Like you told me you experienced,
the only thing that changed meanwhile is my hair feels better and softer than before,
I don't know how much it's related but we'll see.

Gboy, from yout prictures your hair loss is minimal, you look good, if women is your problem then you have nothing to worry about as i see it, you probebly dont get any because you dont try...maybe be more assertive, try with some older chicks too, girls from 22-23 and up *usally* more mature then the evrage teenager (18~)... i truely belive that if you really make an effort and try youll find someone in no-time!

to be honest that looks like a Norwood 1.5, maybe slightly diffused.

wtf man.....people bitched at me for complaining but your hairline is even better than mine!

i'd say you're good to go. just keep up the finasteride.

That is a good sign! Just sit back and watch and remember to take pictures. Try not to stress out about this poop and don't let it run your life! You will be fine! I wish I would have started at 21 like you instead of living in denial until 28!
