I understand there are physiologic differences for everyone. I also realize that that the bags under the eyes are a significant deterrent for most. Some of us are sensitive to it, some of us are not. I only notice the "zombie" condition if I drink a significant amount the night before. I keep a spoon in the freezer to apply to the eye-area before I leave the house in the morning (if I have lent myself to the alcoholic temptations of the evening prior) and all seems to work out fine. The orbital swelling is common for a number of reasons, aside from minoxidil. I used 5% minoxidil for over a year before trying Perfect Image Solutions 15%. The difference was night and day. My mother is a hair stylist and my friends are brutally honest ball-breakers - they all commented on my results after 3 months - some of us respond with great results with a 15% formula. For those of us who do, we deserve to have it available to us.
Dangerous? You do realize that minoxidil was once an orally administered drug - right? Cutaneous absorption of minoxidil, even at 15% applied concentration, should never reach the serum concentration of the initial clinical trials of the oral approach. I agree completely that minoxidil is a potent drug that should not be whimsically played with - however, as long as people aren't whipping it up with DMSO or something ridiculous, it's difficult to reach dangerous serum levels through the cutaneous route. I've been using my homemade formulation for over nine months with little consequence (noticeably) from my heart or face-swelling. I do, however, experience mild effects when I fail to drink adequate amounts of water and replace that intake with whiskey (bourbon - more specifically). Keeper, you're not crazy, some of us are sensitive to the minoxidil. Just don't frighten those who might respond well to a higher dose...
