Little help: Rogaine? spironolactone?

I'm a diffuse thinner, still in the pretty early stages.

I gave finasteride a go but couldn't take the side effects.

What do people suggest as an alternative? I was thinking Rogaine foam but have just read about people using spironolactone with success.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
