a few years back, when i had tons of hair, i used to get lots of shedding but now, no more shedding but thin hair overall. I am trying to get some regrowth happening in the scalp. i am using minoxidil 5% & msm. does anyone have this situation. no shed but thin hair overall?. so my question is, should i use propecia/proscar if i am not shedding? thnx.

I have been using Minoxidil 5% alternating with Xandrox each month for about 3.5 months now. I am getting coverage, but hair is still lifeless ie. fine hair rather than coarse.

Keep applying the minoxidil twice a day, am + pm. Keep taking the msm, at say 2000-3000mg/d and see how your doing at the 6 month stage.

Using proscar/propecia is always an option. And is probably the best overall choice for those wanting to keep their hair/prevent further loss.

thanks Lizzad for your input. last question, my understanding was that propecia prevents dht from accumilating in the scalp, effectively preventing hair from falling out. In my case, where there is little to no shedding, do you think proscar/propecia will actually help for regrowth?

ps. i have used proscar in the past but gave up after one year, with decent results b/c of impotence scare, though mostly mentally/psychologically..

thanks 'gain.
