Long Term Side Effects

Hi guys, as I've said in my story thread, I have been experiencing sexual side effects. I've been in Propecia for about 3 weeks, and now I don't get erections as easily or often (no morning wood) and they are not nearly as "strong" as they used to be. It has been bothering me recently (past 4 days) so I did some research and came upon to this site. http://www.propeciasideeffects.com/ Does anyone here have any long term side effects? Do the sexual side effects go away with time? Do long term side effects go away? I am STRONGLY considering stopping TOMORROW. Please offer any advice. I am not willing to sacrifice my sex life for my hair... no way. I'd much rather shave it bald and wear hats that have great hair and 0 sex. Thank you in advance.

There are no definite answers to those questions. They'll probably go away, or they may not. One things for sure, you should stop reading that website. It will scare you into thinking things are really bad and you'll start looking for side effects. This is a better board to judge how common/extreme side effects really are, but even still keep in mind that dissatisfied people complain, complacement people stay silent.

I would advise you continue with the medication and discontinue using the internet for awhile. If after a month or so the side effects are still present, then you should quit the meds and continue your use of the internet....good luck...

Nobody knows the percentage of men experiencing long term side effects after discontinuing the medication, but they exist. For stories of those experiencing these problems, visit http://www.propeciahelp.com and http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.a ... e=PROPECIA

Also, here is a 2007 Swedish documentary on thus far irreversible side effects for some men. Granted these cases may be "rare", but the fact is -- they do exist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nXWVTStnHs

The only way to know if you are destined to recover or have ongoing issues is to actually quit the drug -- but before doing so I would advise you to get bloodwork done while on, and after coming off should you have further issues. If you are having problems then I would advise you take a break to ensure things come back online. For the vast majority of men, they recover without issue.
