can tell you that from where I sit, the quality is improving, and will continue to do so as the Chinese companies add more workers. I don't see them outsourcing to anywhere else in the near future since there were special trade agreements with North Korea

I'm not going to say the quality is not improving by any measure, but- and this is a major BUT- i do not expect it to match pre-pandemic standards in the forseeable future, unfortunately. QC is not an economic priority for Chinese manufacturers afaict.

I agree that outsourcing is very unlikely in the way it was done before. What's surprising is that no other countries have stepped up to fill the void and cut China out of the equation altogether, which has happened in a bunch of other industries. They have no international competition, which also bodes ill for QC.

No, not knotted lace.
With all automation, robotics, technology, I don’t understand why china or any other country hasn't explored manufacturing hair pieces/wig on lace...human hair might be tricky, but synthetic shouldn't be that hard...wishful thinking..

There's plenty of mens synthetic wigs around using mono bases sometimes with a lace front added. But the quality is questionable, though when I started wearing with AHS back in 1982 only synthetic was on offer for a few years.

It's surprising the Philippines hasn't broken in to the human hair piece/wig making market. There was a wealthy American used car dealer (wearer) a few years ago who lived in Florida and was a regular poster on the original Toplace/BA forum who was trying to get something like that going there but I don't think this ever eventuated. There are a couple of small private wig makers in Manila but they are not up to scale.

Yeah, I spotted these videos yesterday which really hit home to me why they cost what they do. As I just assumed they were all done on machine so at first couldn't quite grasp why they were so expensive.

I have a consultation tomorrow to get my first hair system! eek! Quite excited and have been stalking this forum all week and absorbing as much info/tips/pitfalls as I can so thanks all :)

ROFL, if that's real, it's SO MUCH WORK. The place looks like a prison! Look at her surroundings when enters - the outside is even worse than inside!
